Halberstadt–Blankenburg Railway
The Halberstadt–Blankenburg railway is a non-electrified, single-track railway line, from Halberstadt via Langenstein and Börnecke to Blankenburg in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The Rübeland Railway connects to the line at Blankenburg (Harz) station. Until 1968, there was a branch to Derenburg. The branch line originally ran to Minsleben. History Construction for the first section of the Halberstadt-Blankenburg Railway (''Halberstadt-Blankenburger Eisenbahn'', HBE) started on 28 July 1870 and the line was opened on 31 March 1873. A siding to the Blankenburg iron works, which was about 3 km-long, was opened on 12 July 1875. Since the operation as a main line incurred large operating expenses, the line was reclassified as a branch line in 1877. The Alstom Coradia LINT is an articulated railcar manufactured by Alstom since 1999, offered in diesel and hydrogen fuel models. Elbingerode
Elbingerode is an ''Ortsteil'' of Oberharz am Brocken in the Harz district, in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The former town was incorporated into the newly established municipality on 1 January 2010. Geography It is situated in the eastern Harz mountain range, approximately south of neighbouring Wernigerode. DR Class 130 Family
The DR 130 family of locomotives comprises the DR Class 130 (''DBAG Class 230''), DR Class 131 (''DBAG Class 231''), DR Class 132 (''DBAG Class 232'' as well as Classes ''233'', ''234'' and ''241'' produced through modifications) and DR Class 142 (''DBAG Class 242''), in USSR locomotive called TE109 (DBAG 230/1/2) and TE129 (DBAG 242).
