Hal Seeger
Harold Seeger (May 16, 1917 – March 13, 2005) was an American animated cartoon producer and director who owned his own studio the Hal Seeger Studio (Hal Seeger Productions). He is most famous as the creator of the 1960s animated series '' Batfink'', '' Milton the Monster'' and ''Fearless Fly''. During the 1930s and 1940s he was also active as a comics writer and artist, most famously for the ''Betty Boop'' comic strip and '' Leave It to Binky''. Biography Born in Brooklyn, New York, Seeger began working as an animator for Fleischer Studios in the early 1940s. His credits included "A Kick in Time" for the ''Color Classics'' series and a sequence for the feature film ''Mr. Bug Goes to Town''. Muggy-Doo
Muggy-Doo is a talking animal character created by Hal Seeger. Originally appearing in comic books, this character soon went on to animated cartoons as part of the 1965 '' Milton the Monster Show'', but did not last long in either venue. History Comic books Muggy-Doo started out as the feline star of a 1953 comic from Stanhall Publishing entitled Muggy-Doo, Boy Cat. He was a screwball character who bought and sold junk for a living and who always wore a loose-fitting yellow T-shirt, the front of which had writing that kept changing to fit his situation (in the style of the Yellow Kid). The comic also included stories starring other characters, such as Elmer the Elk, Orry the Orangutan, and the porcine Stuffy Derma. Also featured was a fez-wearing hound named Osh, who acted as a foil for Muggy, but also appeared in solo stories. An animator is an artist who creates multiple images, known as frames, which give an illusion of movement called animation when displayed in rapid sequence. Animators can work in a variety of fields including film, television, and video games. Animation is closely related to filmmaking and like filmmaking is extremely labor-intensive, which means that most significant works require the collaboration of several animators. Yokel is one of several derogatory terms referring to the stereotype of unsophisticated country people. The term is of uncertain etymology and is only attributed from the early 19th century. Yokels are depicted as straightforward, simple, naïve, and easily deceived, failing to see through false pretenses. They are also depicted as talking about bucolic topics like cows, sheep, goats, wheat, alfalfa, fields, crops, and tractors to the exclusion of all else. Broadly, they are portrayed as unaware of or uninterested in the world outside their own surroundings. Milton The Monster
''Milton the Monster,'' also called ''The Milton the Monster Show,'' is an American Saturday morning animated cartoon TV series that ran on ABC from October 9, 1965, to September 8, 1968. It was produced and directed by Hal Seeger. Overview The series starred Milton the Monster, a Frankenstein-looking monster with a flat-topped, seemingly hollow head which emitted various quantities of white steam or smoke based on his mood or situation. He was created by mad scientist Professor Montgomery Weirdo and his assistant Count Kook, who lived in a haunted house on Horror Hill. The Porky Pig Show
''The Porky Pig Show'' is an American television anthology series hosted by Porky Pig, that was composed of '' Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' theatrical cartoons made between 1948 and 1964. The series aired on ABC Saturday mornings from 1964 to 1967, with 26 half-hour episodes created. In rare times as of the 2010s, the show aired reruns on Canal 5 in Mexico. Format Each show began with a newly-animated title sequence featuring a theme song by Barbara Cameron, in which Porky welcomes his friends into a barn to dance and watch his show. Following the three cartoons featured on the program (the first one always featuring Porky, and few of which would be featured on any incarnation of ''The Bugs Bunny Show'' until the 1990s), a closing sequence played in which Porky's friends say goodbye and promise to return the following week.
