Yuexiu District
Yuexiu District is one of 11 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, China, located west of the Tianhe District and east of the Liwan District. It is the commercial, political and cultural centre of Guangdong and noted for its high-quality education. The Guangdong provincial government and the Guangzhou city government are both located in the Yuexiu District. Established in 1960, the district absorbed the former Dongshan District in May 2005 along with several former subdistricts of the Baiyun and Tianhe district. Yuexiu District has 18 streets under its jurisdiction. The total area is 33.8 square kilometers. The Eight Views of Ram City, also known as the Eight Sights of Guangzhou is the collective name for various collections of the eight most famous tourist attractions in Guangzhou, China, during different periods of its history. Collections of "Eight Views" is a common trope in Chinese travel literature. Song dynasty The Eight Sights of Guangzhou in the Song dynasty were recorded in the ''Annals of Nanhai County'' () of the Kangxi Era and the ''Annals of Guangzhou Prefecture'' () of the Qianlong Era. Most of the sights were closely related to water bodies in the city, reflecting its tight cultural connection to water. * Fuxu Yuri () referred to Yuri Pavilion in Fuxu Town, located in present-day Miaotou Village, Nangang Town to the east of Nanhai Temple. Nanfang Daily
The ''Nanfang Daily'' (), also known as ''Southern Daily'' and ''Nanfang Ribao'', is the official newspaper of the Guangdong provincial committee of the Chinese Communist Party. The paper was established in Guangzhou on October 23, 1949. On October 15, 1949, Ye Jianying arrived in Guangzhou, surrounded and disarmed all speculators, and arrested more than ten journalists for re-education. The premises and equipment of the Kuomintang's '' Central Daily'' were immediately seized and taken over. The paper was changed to ''Nanfang Daily'', first published on October 23. The newspaper is eponymous to the more lively and commercial ''Southern Metropolis Daily'' and part of the giant Nanfang Daily Newspaper Group. In March 2018, ''Nanfang Daily'' won the Third National Top 100 Newspapers in China.
