Haithem Mahmoud
Haithem Fahmy Mahmoud (born 23 September 1991 in Alexandria) is a Greco-Roman wrestler from Egypt who competes in the 59 kg category. He took up wrestling in 2000 and won the African Championships in 2014 and 2015. At the Wrestling at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's Greco-Roman 59 kg, 2016 Olympics he was eliminated in the first bout. He represented Egypt at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Wrestling at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Greco-Roman 60 kg, 60kg category. Men's Greco-Roman 59 kilograms competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, took place on August 14 at the Carioca Arena 2 in Barra da Tijuca. This Greco-Roman wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists face off for gold and silver medals.
