Haiku Hands
Haiku Hands are an alternative dance electronic music group from Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. The group consists of Claire Nakazawa, Beatrice Lewis, Mie Nakazawa, and performing member Mataya Young. The Nakazawa sisters are from Sydney and Lewis is from Melbourne. Touring The group toured nationally with Groovin The Moo and Listen Out (festival). They have played festivals including Splendour in the Grass, St Jerome's Laneway Festival, Wonderland Scarehouse Tour, WOMADelaide, Pitch Festival and Party In The Paddock. Haiku Hands have supported Flight Facilities and Bloc Party on their Australian tours. In 2019, they toured with Sofi Tukker. Sydney ( ) is the capital city of the state of New South Wales, and the most populous city in both Australia and Oceania. ''The Music'', (formerly known as and now incorporating ''Drum Media)'', is an online Australian music magazine. It previously existed as a street press devoted to long-form music journalism and commentary, music news, and artist interviews. In its printed form, it was based in Sydney, NSW and distributed throughout Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and Canberra, and surrounding areas. The magazine changed its name to ''The Music'' (incorporating Drum Media) in 2013, following the merge with two other magazines, Brisbane's ''Time Off'' and Melbourne's ''Inpress'', owned by Street Press Australia. In 2020 the print edition was paused. Drum Media ''Drum Media'' was founded in 1990 as a free weekly tabloid-sized music magazine (street press). The 2021 AIR Awards is the fifteenth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards ceremony (generally known as the AIR Awards). The 2020 AIR Awards was the fourteenth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards ceremony (generally known as the AIR Awards). It took place on 1 October 2020 in Adelaide. The nominations were revealed on 7 July 2020, consisting of sixteen categories, up four from twelve, as was the case in 2019. The four new categories were: Best Independent Pop Album or EP, Best Independent Rock Album or EP, Best Independent Children's Album or EP, and Best Independent Soul/R&B Album or EP. The award for Best Independent Hard Rock, Heavy or Punk Album was split in two, recognising Punk and Heavy separately. For the first time, the ceremony didn't include the Best Independent Artist category. The Australian Independent Record Awards (commonly known informally as AIR Awards) is an annual awards night to recognise, promote and celebrate the success of Australia's Independent Music sector. History The inaugural 2006 awards were held at Blacket Hotel in Sydney on 29 November 2006 and sponsored by V energy drinks. The following awards ceremonies were held between October and December in Melbourne, Victoria from 2007 to 2015. In December 2008 it was announced that Jägermeister, previously a "headline sponsor", would become the major sponsors until 2010. ''Music from the Motion Picture'' is an album by 10,000 Maniacs. The album, their first full-length in 14 years, contains eleven original songs. This album is the first to feature guitarist Jeff Erickson since he took over for Robert Buck following his death in 2000, and the first Maniacs album to feature Mary Ramsey without her longtime music partner, John Lombardo. In addition to his guitar efforts, Erickson provides the first male lead vocals on a Maniacs song since John Lombardo's vocal on the ''Human Conflict Number Five'' album of 1982. ''New Musical Express'' (''NME'') is a British music, film, gaming, and culture website and brand.
