Hagerman, Idaho
Hagerman is a city in Gooding County, Idaho, United States. The population was 872 at the 2010 census, up from 656 in 2000. The area is noted for its fossil beds and the Thousand Springs of the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer. Hagerman is home to a national fish hatchery, a university research station, and extensive aquaculture, assisted by an abundance of geothermal water for temperature regulation. Fossil beds Hagerman is the home of the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument of the U. S. National Park Service. No other fossil beds preserve such varied land and aquatic species from the Pliocene. More than 180 animal species of both vertebrates and invertebrates and 35 plant species have been found in hundreds of individual fossil sites. Eight species are found nowhere else, and 43 were found here first. The Hagerman horse, ''Equus simplicidens'', exemplifies the quality of the fossils. Hagerman is a town in Chaves County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 1,251 at the 2010 census. Geography Hagerman is located in south-central Chaves County at (33.112339, -104.328146), approximately west of the Pecos River. New Mexico State Road 2 passes through the town, leading northwest to Roswell, the county seat, and south to Artesia. NM 249 leads east from the center of town to the top of the Mescalero Ridge. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. Hagerman is a hamlet in the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 1,450 at the 1990 census. Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge
Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge (HNWR), a haven for migratory birds and other wildlife, lies in northwestern Grayson County, Texas, on the Big Mineral Arm of Lake Texoma, on the Red River between Oklahoma and Texas. This National Wildlife Refuge is made up of water, marsh, and upland habitat. Visitors can hike, observe wildlife, hunt, and fish throughout the year. The main focus at HNWR is providing a winter home for thousands of waterfowl. The Canada goose is the predominant species; the population of this species can exceed 7,500 during fall, winter, and spring. Other species include the greater white-fronted goose and snow goose, with a few of the smaller Ross's goose. Hagerman Pass
Hagerman Pass, elevation , is a high mountain pass that crosses the continental divide in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado in the United States. The pass traverses the Sawatch Range west of Leadville, connecting the headwaters of the Arkansas River on the east with the upper valley of the Fryingpan River above Basalt, in the basin of the Colorado River. The pass was named for James J. Hagerman, builder of the Colorado Midland Railroad. The Colorado Midland railroad crossed the continental divide through one of two tunnels (initially the Hagerman Tunnel (1887), later the Busk-Ivanhoe Tunnel (1893) at lower altitude) near the top of Hagerman pass. The latter tunnel now serves as a water diversion tunnel draining Ivanhoe Lake on the west side of the pass into the Arkansas River basin.
