Hafizullah Shabaz Khail
Dr. Hafizullah Shabaz Khail is a citizen of Afghanistan, who was held in the United States's Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba. American intelligence analysts estimate he was born in 1946, in Paktia, Afghanistan. According to the Center for Constitutional Rights Hafizullah Shabaz Khail, is an Afghan pharmacist who served in the transitional Afghan government after the Taliban's fall and that he was the victim of false arrest while serving on a commission of elders attempting to uncover theft perpetrated by government officials. Hafizullah Shabaz Khail was repatriated to Afghanistan on December 12, 2007. He was captured, again, in his home, in September 2008. Paktia (Pashto/Dari: – ''Paktyā'') is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan, located in the east of the country. Forming part of the larger Loya Paktia region, Paktia Province is divided into 15 districts and has a population of roughly 623,000, which is mostly a tribal society living in rural areas.
