HICOM Automotive Manufacturers (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (HA) is part of the DRB-HICOM Bhd. company for production and assembly of automobiles. The company's headquarters is located in Pekan, Malaysia. Previously, the company was also known as ''Automotive Manufacturers (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.'' History The companies roots extend back to 1983 and originally consisted of the assembly in the Integrated Complex settled factory covering an area of 541,070 m². Since the opening of the plant, 13,000 vehicles per year produced in-house and more than 47,000 complete knock down kits are assembled for the local and surrounding markets. Previously, the company assembled some of Proton models like Iswara, Satria, Putra, Tiara and Juara at 1990's prior to 2005. The main products of the company are the Suzuki Swift and the Iveco Maxi. DRB-HICOM Berhad () is one of Malaysia's leading corporations, involved in the automotive manufacturing, assembly and distribution industry through its involvement in the passenger car and four wheel drive vehicle market segment, the national truck project and the national motorcycle project. DRB-HICOM is the majority shareholder of Malaysia's national car company, Proton, with China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group the other shareholder since an equity sale in 2017. The LDV Maxus is a light commercial van model, originally produced by LDV Limited. It was launched at the end of 2004. The model was jointly developed under the LD100 programme code by LDV and Daewoo Motor, prior to Daewoo entering receivership in November 2000, in a five year, £500 million development programme. It was intended to replace LDV's Convoy model, and Daewoo Motor Polska's Lublin II model.
