HC Nové Zámky
HC Nové Zámky is a professional ice hockey team playing in the Slovak Extraliga, the top level of ice hockey in the country. They play in the city of Nové Zámky, Slovakia at Nové Zámky Ice Stadium. The team is nicknamed ''Býci'', meaning "Bulls" in English. History The club was founded in 1965. In the 2013–14 season won first time title in MOL Liga. Next season 2014–15 they lost in final with DVTK Jegesmedvék, 0–4 in series. In the same season, team won lowest league in Slovakia Slovak 2. Liga and qualify to Slovak 1. Liga. Nové Zámky (; hu, Érsekújvár; german: Neuhäus ; la, Novum Castrum; tr, Uyvar) is a town in Nové Zámky District in the Nitra Region of southwestern Slovakia. The Erste Liga (formerly the MOL Liga) is an international ice hockey league organized for clubs based in Hungary and Romania. It is sponsored by the Erste Bank Hungary. The games played between the Hungarian teams count towards the Hungarian National Championship in the OB I Bajnokság. The Romanian teams also compete in the Romanian National Championship Liga Naţională. History In the first season, the league comprised six Hungarian teams and four Romanian teams. HC Csíkszereda went undefeated in the post-season to win the first MOL Liga title. In 2009–10, the number of teams went down to five Hungarian and two Romanian teams.
