Hüseyin Avni Bey
Hüseyin Avni Bey (1875 - 13 August 1915) was the commander of the 57th Infantry Regiment of the Ottoman Army at the Battle of Gallipoli during which he led a counterattack that successfully stabilized the right flank of the Turkish defences on the 25 April 1915. Early life Hüseyin Avni was born in Manastır, Ottoman Empire (in the present day Bitola, North Macedonia) in 1875. At the time of his birth his father Ali, was a District Governor. The family’s ancestors had originally settled at the beginning of the 15th century in what is today Alanya in southern Turkey. In the 1420s they joined the conquest of the Balkans lead by Sultan Murad II and for their service were given land in Serbia. Career Avni entered the Mekteb-i Harbiye (military school) in 1889. He graduated as a lieutenant on 6 May 1892 and was assigned to the 3rd Battalion 2nd Division of the 18th Ordinance Regiment of the 3rd Army on 15 May of the same year. Hüseyin Avni Mutlu
Hüseyin Avni Mutlu (born 1956) is a Turkish civil servant. He served as the Governor of Istanbul Province between 2010 and 2014. Early years and education Hüseyin Avni Mutlu was born to a miner father in Fındıklı town of Rize Province, Turkey in 1956. He has four siblings. He completed primary education in Fatih, Istanbul. After graduating from the Law School of Istanbul University, he was appointed candidate district governor ( tr, kaymakam adayı) in Kocaeli Province in 1985. He then served as deputy district governor in Gerede, Bolu Province and Kargı, Çorum Province. In 1988, Mutlu was appointed district governor in Büyükorhan of Bursa province. In 1991, he went to the USA for one year, where he was educated in English language. Following his return, he was assigned to Silopi, Şırnak Province as district governor serving until 1994. Hüseyin Avni Pasha
Hüseyin Avni Pasha (1820 – 15 June 1876) was an Ottoman governor-general and statesman. He was Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire from 15 February 1874 to 26 April 1875. He was killed by Çerkess Hassan the younger brother of Neşerek Kadın Efendi, who accused him of the murder of Ottoman Sultan Abdülaziz, on 15 June 1876 during a cabinet meeting of Ottoman Sultan Murad V at the residence of Midhat Pasha near Beyazıt in Fatih, Istanbul.
