Karl Wilhelm Hübner (17 June 1814, Königsberg - 5 December 1879, Düsseldorf) was a German landscape and genre painter, in the Romantic style. Life and work His father was a construction worker. He initially studied art with the portrait painter, , in his hometown. Thanks to his support, Hübner was able to gain admission to the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in 1837. His instructors there included Wilhelm von Schadow and Karl Ferdinand Sohn. He graduated in 1841 and established a studio in the Pempelfort district, and soon became associated with the Düsseldorfer Malerschule. There, he married Caroline Dorn. They had several children. Joseph Alexander, count Hübner (26 November 1811 – 30 July 1892) was an Austrian diplomat. Early life Hübner was born as ''Josef Hafenbredl'' in Vienna, Austria 26 November 1811. He was the illegitimate son of Elizabeth Hafenbredl and had the same surname. A number of sources state that his father was chancellor Prince Metternich. He was raised in the family of his uncle, wholesaler Josef Rohrweck. He studied law and philosophy at the University of Vienna, in the meantime he entered the civil service in 1833, in 1835 he obtained a doctorate in philosophy. Hübner entered the Army during the First World War on 25 July 1916 as a volunteer in the replacement battalion of the Grenadier Regiment "Prince Carl of Prussia" (2nd Brandenburg) No. 12 a. Rudolf Julius Benno Hübner (27 January 1806 – 7 November 1882) was a German historical painter of the Düsseldorf school of painting. He was also known as a poet and the father of Emil Hübner, a distinguished classical scholar. Life Hübner was born at Oels in Silesia, studied at the Prussian Academy of Arts in Berlin under Schadow, and in Düsseldorf. He first attracted attention by his picture of "Ruth and Boaz" (1825). He traveled in Italy and resided for the most part at Düsseldorf until 1839. In that year he settled at Dresden, becoming a professor in the Academy of Arts in 1841 and director of the Gallery of Paintings in 1871. He obtained the great gold medal at Brussels in 1851. Ulrich Hübner (17 June 1872, Berlin - 29 April 1932, Neubabelsberg) was a German painter. Biography He was born into a family of artists and began his academic training 1892 in Karlsruhe with Robert Poetzelberger, Gustav Schönleber, and Carlos Grethe. He then studied at the private art school in Munich operated by Friedrich Fehr. In 1899, he was a member of the Berlin Secession, and in 1906 and 1907 was on the advisory board. That same year, he won the prize for advertising designs presented by Ludwig and Otto Stollwerck of the Stollwerck chocolate company.
