Höfen An Der Enz
Höfen or Höfen an der Enz is a municipality in Calw district, in the region of Karlsruhe of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. Höfen is located on the River Enz at the northern edge of the Black Forest. It is located where street L 343 intersects with street B 294 (Gundelfingen - Bretten). Geography Enztal is located in the northern Black Forest at an altitude of 360-712 meters, below the confluence of the big Enz and the small Enz. The community area is forested to 85%. History The first recorded name of the place is "zum Hof" (locus dictus at ''zum hofe'' in a deed dated July 26, 1376), ''zu den Höfen.'' To Württemberg came Höfen together with Neuenbürg. Previously managed by a lawyer, the place became its own municipality administration unit (Schultheißenamt) and an independent municipality in the mid of the 19th century. Calw is a Districts of Germany, ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. However it already had the right size and population which was planned for the newly created districts, and thus this plan was abandoned. Black Forest
The Black Forest (german: Schwarzwald ) is a large forested mountain range in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany, bounded by the Rhine Valley to the west and south and close to the borders with France and Switzerland. Gundelfingen im Breisgau ( Low Alemannic: ''Gundelfinge im Brisgau'') is a municipality directly north of the city Freiburg in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. Gundelfingen is one of the larger municipalities in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district. It consists of the old place Gundelfingen and the village Wildtal, which was included in the municipality in the 1970s. Neuenbürg is a town in the Enz district, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated on the river Enz, 10 km southwest of Pforzheim. History Neuenbürg originated as a village around a castle built by the in the 12th century. Between 1315 and 1322, Neuenbürg became a possession of the Counts of Württemberg, who gave it town rights. Bad Wildbad
Bad Wildbad is a town in Germany, in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is located in the government district (''Regierungsbezirk'') of Karlsruhe and in the district (''Landkreis'') of Calw. Enz Valley Railway
The Enz Valley Railway (''Enztalbahn'' or ''Enzbahn'') is a long railway line in the northern part of the Black Forest in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The line runs from Pforzheim to Bad Wildbad and for its course runs close to the River Enz. The line was opened by the Grand Duchy of Baden State Railway on 11 June 1868 and is one of the oldest railways in Germany. It is now integrated into the Karlsruhe Stadtbahn as line S 6.
