Håvard Stubø
Håvard Aasan Stubø (born 26 March 1977 in Narvik, Northern Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (guitar) and composer, son and musical successor of Jazz guitarist Thorgeir Stubø (1943–1986) and Grete Karin Aasan Stubø (b. 1943), and brother of Jazz singer Kjersti Stubø and Theater director Eirik Stubø. He picked up the guitar when about twelve, and had his first gigs with local alternative rock bands in Narvik, such as ''Magnet''. After a few years at the University of Oslo and the University of Bergen studying English language and philosophy, he went to study music with the jazz program at the Trondheim Conservatory of Music (2000–2004), where he participated in jazz the groups ''Marita Røstad & Velvet Lounge Orchestra'', ''Ping Pong'' and a trio with Tore Johansen and Roger Arntzen. Narvik (town)
or is a List of towns and cities in Norway, town and the administrative centre of Narvik Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The town is located along the Ofotfjorden in the Ofoten region. The town lies on a peninsula located between the Rombaken fjord and the Beisfjorden. The European route E06 highway runs through the Beisfjord Bridge and Hålogaland Bridge crossing the two small fjords surrounding the town. The town has a population (2023) of 14,051 which gives the town a population density of . Narvik Church is the main church for the town. Narvik is a commercial centre for the region. The Narvik campus of the University of Tromsø has approximately 1,200 students in the town. There are some high-tech businesses in Narvik (among them Natech). Knut Riisnæs
Knut Riisnæs (13 November 1945 – 22 July 2023) was a Norwegian jazz musician (saxophone and flute), arranger, and composer, son of pianist Eline Nygaard Riisnæs and brother of classical pianist Anne Eline Riisnæs (1951–) and jazz saxophonist Odd Riisnæs (1953–). The brothers are both known from a variety of recordings in Norway and internationally. Career Knut Riisnæs was born in Oslo, where he became central to the local jazz scene at an early age. He contributed to the bebop inspired records released by some of the greatest jazz musicians of Norway, and made his solo debut with the album ''Escape'', by Knut Borge characterized as "the basis of the Wizard John Coltrane ... by far the best Norwegian jazz production in 1982, besides New Cool Quartet".
