Hämeenkoski (; Koski Hl until 1995, see Koski Tl) is a former municipality of Finland. It was merged to the municipality of Hollola on 1 January 2016. It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Päijänne Tavastia region. The municipality had a population of (30 June 2015) and covered an area of of which was water. The population density was . The municipality was unilingually Finnish. Lake Pääjärvi is situated at the border between Hämeenkoski and Hämeenlinna (formerly Lammi). History Hämeenkoski was originally known as ''Koski''. It was initially a part of the Lammi administrative division and the Hauho parish. Lammi became a separate parish in the beginning of the 15th century or slightly earlier. Koski was first mentioned as a separate parish in 1410, but it was merged into Lammi as a chapel community in 1540. The chapel was also known as ''Etola'' after another village in the area. Hollola
Hollola () is a municipality of Finland, located in the western part of the Päijänne Tavastia region. The municipality is unilingually Finnish and has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . Hollola's neighboring municipalities are Asikkala in the north, Hausjärvi and Hämeenlinna in the west, Lahti in the east and Kärkölä and Orimattila in the south. Hollola belongs to the Lahti region. It is 111 km (68.97 mi) from Hollola to Helsinki and 121 km (75.18 mi) to Tampere. Hollola's municipal center is Salpakangas, which is located along highway 12 near the western border of Lahti. Lammi
Lammi (, also ) is a former municipality of Finland. It was consolidated with Hämeenlinna on 2009-01-01. It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Tavastia Proper region. The municipality had a population of 5,507 (2008) and covered an area of 611.24 km², of which 73.69 km² is water. The population density is 11 inhabitants per km². Neighbouring municipalities were Asikkala, Hauho, Hausjärvi, Hämeenkoski, Janakkala, Kärkölä, Luopioinen, Padasjoki and Tuulos. The municipality was unilingually Finnish. The lake Kuohijärvi is located in Lammi and the lake Pääjärvi is situated at the border between Lammi and Hämeenkoski. Southern Finland
Southern Finland (, ) was a province of Finland from 1997 to 2009. It bordered the provinces of Western Finland and Eastern Finland. It also bordered the Gulf of Finland and Russia. History On September 1, 1997 the Uusimaa Province, the Kymi Province and the southern parts of the Häme Province were joined to form the new Southern Finland Province. Koski Tl (; ) is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the Southwest Finland region and was part of the former province of Western Finland. The municipality has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . ''Tl'' in the name means the former province of Turku and Pori (). Troops under Axel Kurck, supporting king Sigismund were defeated by troops supported duke Karl, soon to be king Karl IX.
