''Mesosphaerum suaveolens'', synonym ''Hyptis suaveolens'', the pignut or chan, is a branching pseudocereal plant native to tropical regions of Mexico, Central, the West Indies, and South America, as well as being naturalized in tropical parts of Africa, Asia and Australia.
