Hyouka
is a 2001 Japanese mystery novel written by Honobu Yonezawa. It is the first volume of the series. Five additional volumes have been published between 2002 and 2016. A manga adaptation drawn by Taskohna began serialization in the March 2012 issue of Kadokawa Shoten's '' Shōnen Ace''. A 22-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation and directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto aired from April 22 to September 16, 2012. A live-action film, '' Hyouka: Forbidden Secrets'', directed by Mari Asato and starring Kento Yamazaki and Alice Hirose was released on November 3, 2017. Hyouka (TV Series)
''Hyouka'' () is a Japanese anime television series based on the ''Classic Literature Club'' series written by Honobu Yonezawa. It was named after the first volume of the series, ''Hyouka'', and made into a 22-episode televised animation series. The story follows Houtarou Oreki, a first-year high school student who meets Eru Chitanda, Satoshi Fukube, and Mayaka Ibara after joining his school's Classic Literature Club. ''Hyouka'' was produced by Kyoto Animation, with directing by Yasuhiro Takemoto, series composition by Shoji Gatoh, and character design by Futoshi Nishiya. The opening theme played in the first half of the series was sung by ChouCho, and the opening played in the second half was sung by Saori Kodama. Yasuhiro Takemoto
was a Japanese animator and television director, television and film director. He worked at Kyoto Animation for almost his entire animation career after joining the company in 1996 until his death in 2019. Career After graduating, he entered at the prestigious Yoyogi Animation Institute, a specialized animation academy located in Yoyogi, Shibuya, Tokyo. Honobu Yonezawa
is a Japanese writer, best known for his young adult mystery series '' Kotenbu'', also known as the ''Classic Literature Club'' series. Biography Honobu Yonezawa was born in 1978 in the Gifu Prefecture. From as young as he could remember, Yonezawa wanted to be a writer. At 11 years old, he wrote a sequel to H. G. Wells's ''The War of the Worlds,'' and started writing original novels in the second year of junior high school. In his second year of Kanazawa University studying literature, he started publishing his works on his site ''Hanmuden'' (汎夢殿) (the website was temporarily shut down after his official debut and these works are currently unavailable).
