History The business was established in 1882 by Richard Matthews Hyne when he established the National Sawmill on the banks of the Mary River in Queensland. Cook is an electoral district in Queensland, Australia. Cook covers the vast Cape York Peninsula north of Cairns, including the resort town of Port Douglas and the Torres Strait Islands. Maryborough Boys Grammar School
Maryborough State High School (commonly abbreviated as 'MSHS') is a public high school located in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia. The school is run by the Queensland State Government, and is split on either side of Kent Street. The school colours are blue and brown. In 2024 MSHS had 1330 students (including 120 students identifying as indigenous) with 102 teachers and 60 non-teaching staff (35 full-time equivalent). The school has had many incarnations, starting its life as Maryborough Boys Grammar School and Maryborough Girls Grammar School, then from 1937 a segregated boys and girls state high school. The school became coeducational from 1974. From 2017, Maryborough State High School is an Independent Public School. Richard Bingham Sheridan
Richard Bingham Sheridan (1 August 1822 – 8 June 1897) was a Queensland public servant, liberal-oriented Member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland and government minister (minister without portfolio 1883–85 and later Post Master General in 1885). Early life Sheridan was born at Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland, the son of Henry S. Sheridan and his wife Margaret, ''née'' Martin. He arrived in New South Wales in 1842 and was initially employed near Twofold Bay, where he had the experience of being, on his own account, 'one of the first white men ever seen among the wild tribes'. Subsequently, he was until 1844 employed as a property manager for Captain William Oldrey of Broulee, New South Wales, Broulee. He married on 18 November 1845, in Sydney, to Adele Eulalie Masse, a native of Mauritius. Maryborough Cemetery is a cemetery in Walker Street, Maryborough West, Queensland, Maryborough West, Maryborough, Queensland, Maryborough, Fraser Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. The cemetery and its heritage-listed Mortuary Chapel have importance to the local community as the principal place of public burial in Maryborough for over 150 years.
