Hymn (Moby Song)
"Hymn" is a song by American electronica musician Moby. It was released on May 16, 1994, as the first single from his third studio album, '' Everything Is Wrong'' (1995). The single version, which was radically remixed from the album original and retitled "Hymn (This Is My Dream)", peaked at number 31 on the UK Singles Chart and number three in Finland. A 33-minute ambient remix was released as "Hymn.Alt.Quiet.Version". Critical reception Steve Baltin from ''Cash Box'' described "Hymn" as a "beautiful piano tune". Andy Beevers from ''Music Week'' gave it four out of five and named it Pick of the Week in the category of Dance. He wrote, "Moby can always be relied on to come up with a novel and commercial twist on the house formula. This time he goes for a full-blown choral treatment with the hard-edged synth sounds." The European Hot 100 Singles was compiled by '' Billboard'' and '' Music & Media'' magazine from March 1984 until December 2010. ''Record Mirror'' was a British weekly music newspaper between 1954 and 1991 for pop fans and record collectors. Launched two years after the ''NME'', it never attained the circulation of its rival. The first UK album chart was published in ''Record Mirror'' in 1956, and during the 1980s it was the only consumer music paper to carry the official UK singles and UK albums charts used by the BBC for Radio 1 and ''Top of the Pops'', as well as the US ''Billboard'' charts. The title ceased to be a stand-alone publication in April 1991 when United Newspapers closed or sold most of their consumer magazines, including ''Record Mirror'' and its sister music magazine ''Sounds'', to concentrate on trade papers like ''Music Week''. In 2010 Giovanni di Stefano bought the name ''Record Mirror'' and relaunched it as an online music gossip website in 2011. The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts. It is one of the three official charts, the other two being the Dutch Top 40 and the Mega Top 30. The difference is that these charts also include airplay data. The list is especially intended for the music industry and those who take an interest in charts.
