Hylsfjorden
Hylsfjorden or Hylsfjord is a fjord in the municipality Suldal in Rogaland county, Norway. The long fjord runs from the small area of Hylen to the west. It ends just north of the village of Sand where it joins the Saudafjorden and together they form the Sandsfjorden, an inner branch of the Boknafjorden. The Hylen Hydroelectric Power Station is located in the inner end of Hylsfjord. The fjord has relatively little development along its shores, only a few small hamlets, with Vanvik being the largest. Saudafjorden
Saudafjord or Saudafjorden is a fjord in Rogaland county, Norway. The fjord stretches from the town of Sauda in the municipality of Sauda in the north to the village of Sand in the municipality of Suldal where the Saudafjorden and Hylsfjorden join together to form the Sandsfjorden. The Saudafjorden is the northernmost branch of the main Boknafjord which dominates Rogaland county. The long Saudafjorden is an open, wide fjord with a depth approaching . The fjord was carved by the action of glaciers in the ice ages and was flooded by the sea when the later glaciers retreated. The fjord has no marked threshold as the glacial ice flow joined that from the Hylsfjord and flowed into the Sandsfjord. Sandsfjord
Sandsfjorden or Sandsfjord is a fjord in Suldal Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The long fjord is the northernmost arm of main Boknafjorden in Rogaland county. The fjord begins at the confluence of the Saudafjorden and Hylsfjorden, just north of the village of Sand. It then travels to the southwest until it reaches the island of Foldøy, where the fjord joins the main Boknafjorden. The villages of Jelsa and Hebnes are located on either side of the mouth of the fjord. The Sandsfjord Bridge crosses the fjord near the village of Marvik. The bridge opened in the fall of 2015 and it connects the Norwegian National Road 13 to the Norwegian County Road 46. It replaced a ferry route across the fjord from Ropeid to Sand. Suldal
Suldal is a municipality in the northeast corner of Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Ryfylke. Since 1965, the administrative centre of Suldal is the village of Sand i Ryfylke (prior to that it was the village of Suldalsosen). Other villages in Suldal include Haugsland, Jelsa, Marvik, Nesflaten, and Suldalsosen. The municipality is the 46th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Suldal is the 208th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 3,784. Boknafjorden
Boknafjord or Boknafjorden ( en, Bokna Fjord) is a fjord located in Rogaland county, Norway. The huge fjord lies between the cities of Stavanger and Haugesund and dominates the central part of the county. The main part of the fjord is shared between the municipalities of Kvitsøy, Stavanger, Tysvær, Bokn, and Karmøy. There are dozens of smaller fjords that branch off the main part of the fjord, reaching most municipalities in the county. At its longest, the Boknafjord reaches about into the mainland at the innermost point of the Hylsfjorden.
