''Hygiene'' is the fourth studio album by American post-hardcore band Drug Church. The album was released on March 11, 2022, through Pure Noise Records. Critical reception ''Hygiene'' received widespread critical acclaim upon its release. On review aggregator website, Metacritic, ''Hygiene'' has an average critic score of 82 out of 100, indicating "universal acclaim based on four critic reviews". Paul Travers writing for British publication ''Kerrang!'' gave ''Hygiene'' a four out of five-star rating, saying that the album is "as addictively seductive as ever and listening to ''Hygiene'' might just be one of the most satisfying things you can do in less than half an hour." Drug Church
Drug Church is an American post-hardcore band from Albany, New York, United States. The band has released four albums, as well as several EPs. History Drug Church started as a side project for singer Patrick Kindlon of Self Defense Family. After having released a three-song demo online in 2011, the band got signed by No Sleep Records by the beginning of 2012. Drug Church then signed to Pure Noise Records in 2018 who released their album, "Cheer". The band's fourth album "Hygiene" was announced on November 10, 2021 with the release of the singles "Miles of Fun" and "Detective Lieutenant", and was released on March 11, 2022 through Pure Noise Records. Arcwelder
Arcwelder is an American punk rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, formed in 1987. The band, a perennial local favorite, consists of brothers Rob and Bill Graber and Scott Macdonald, all of whom share in songwriting and singing. History Under their original name Tilt-A-Whirl, the band released their first album, ''This'', in 1990 on the small Minneapolis label Big Money, Inc. As the record was being released, the band was sued for trademark infringement by Sellner Manufacturing, the manufacturer of the Tilt-A-Whirl amusement ride. Rather than go to court, the band changed their name to Arcwelder, the title of an instrumental on the record. The initial release of ''This'' had a disclaimer sticker noting the lack of affiliation between the ride's manufacturer and the band. Grunge
Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns. Grunge fuses elements of punk rock and heavy metal, but without punk's structure and speed. The genre featured the distorted electric guitar sound used in both genres, although some bands performed with more emphasis on one or the other. Like these genres, grunge typically uses electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals. Grunge also incorporates influences from indie rock bands such as Sonic Youth. Lyrics are typically angst-filled and introspective, often addressing themes such as social alienation, self-doubt, abuse, neglect, betrayal, social and emotional isolation, addiction, psychological trauma and a desire for freedom. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. ''Glow On'' (stylized in all caps) is the third studio album by the American hardcore punk band Turnstile, released on August 27, 2021, via Roadrunner Records. It is the band's last album to feature founding guitarist Brady Ebert, who departed from the band in August 2022. The album was recorded in summer 2020 at Phantom Studios in Gallatin, Tennessee. It was recorded by American producer Mike Elizondo, and marks as the band's first release to include a featured artist with a guest appearance from British singer/songwriter and producer Blood Orange. Turnstile are an American hardcore punk band from Baltimore, Maryland, formed in 2010. They have released five EPs and three studio albums. The band's third album '' Glow On'' was released in 2021 to critical and commercial success; the songs "Holiday" and "Blackout" earned the band three nominations at the 65th Grammy Awards. Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. It was initially inspired by post-punk and noise rock. Like post-punk, the term has been applied to a broad constellation of groups.
