Huw Lawlor
Huw Lawlor (born 1 May 1996) is an Irish hurler who plays for Kilkenny Senior Championship club O'Loughlin Gaels and at inter-county level with the Kilkenny senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a full-back. Playing career Kilkenny CBS Lawlor first came to prominence as a hurler with Kilkenny CBS. He played in every grade of hurling before eventually joining the college's senior hurling team. On 9 March 2014, he lined out at right wing-forward when Kilkenny CBS defeated local rivals St. Kieran's College by 2–13 to 0–13 to win the Leinster Championship. Lawlor was again at right wing-forward when Kilkenny CBS faced St. Kieran's in the All-Ireland final on 5 April 2014. He ended the game on the losing side following a 2–16 to 0–13 defeat. 2018 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 2018 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 131st staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. It is the first tier of senior inter-county championship hurling. The championship began on 12 May 2018 and ended on 19 August 2018. The draw for the championship round-robin fixtures was held off camera on 19 October 2017 and announced on the championship draw broadcast on RTÉ2. The Championship was won by Limerick, who were crowned champions after overcoming Galway in the final by a score line of 3–16 to 2-18. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. 2020 Leinster Senior Hurling Championship
The 2020 Leinster Senior Hurling Championship is the 2020 installment of the annual Leinster Senior Hurling Championship organised by Leinster GAA. Wexford county hurling team, Wexford were the defending champions. Originally scheduled to be a round robin competition, due to the suspension caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games, the provincial competition was switched to a knockout format. The Leinster GAA Hurling Senior Championship, known simply as the Leinster Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition in the province of Leinster, and has been contested every year since the 1888 championship. The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. 2019 National Hurling League
The 2019 National Hurling League is the 88th season of the National Hurling League for county teams. Kilkenny were the defending champions, having won the 2018 league. The GAA announced a new broadcast agreement on 10 January 2019 that runs from 2019 until 2022. Eir Sport and RTÉ provide live TV coverage of the league on Saturday nights. TG4 broadcast Sunday afternoon games.
