Hutch–Kinahan Feud
The Hutch–Kinahan feud is a major ongoing feud between two criminal organisations in the Republic of Ireland that has resulted in the deaths of eighteen people, the majority of which have been perpetrated by the Kinahan family. The Hutch gang, led by Gerry Hutch, and the Kinahan Family, led by Daniel Kinahan, are the main participants. The feud has taken the form of a large number of attacks, mostly shootings, on people associated with the Hutch and Kinahan gangs (though some have been cases of mistaken identity). Most attacks have been in Dublin, a few elsewhere in Ireland, and some in Spain, including the initial murder of Gary Hutch which sparked off the feud. The feud began in 2015, when Gary Hutch was murdered in Marbella, Spain. As of August 2021, at least 18 people have been killed in the feud. Kinahan Organised Crime Group
The Kinahan Organised Crime Group (KOCG), also known as the Kinahan Cartel, is a major Irish transnational organised crime syndicate alleged to be the most powerful in Ireland and one of the largest organised crime groups in the world. It is also established in the United Kingdom, Spain and the United Arab Emirates. It was founded by Christy Kinahan in the 1990s. His eldest son, Daniel manages the day-to-day operations of the family's criminal group. Estimated reports have credited them with wealth of up to €1 billion. Paul Kavanagh (criminal)
Paul Kavanagh was an Irish criminal and a debt collector for the Kinahan Organised Crime Group run by Christy Kinahan. He was a father of two and also a brother of Gerard Kavanagh and uncle of Jamie Kavanagh. He was originally from Drimnagh and was in his late 20s. Death He had been renting a house in Drumcondra at the time of his death. His partner drove back from a gym on 26 March 2015 and he was parking the car for her when he was attacked. An eyewitness saw him driving the car, then suddenly reversing at speed. His was stopped by a white Audi that blocked his way. Another witness then heard shots then saw a car hitting another. He then saw two men get out of the car and jog in the direction of Grace Park Road. The Audi was set alight before the killers fled. His mother identified his remains at the morgue. Imre Arakas
Imre Arakas, also known as the butcher, is an Estonian criminal. He has also been a wrestler, an actor and an Estonian separatist. He is a father of two. Criminal career Soviet era In 1979, aged twenty, he and a friend broke into a shooting club in Tallinn and stole 13 handguns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Some saw the theft as a blow against the Soviet regime. Arakas was quickly arrested and escaped from the courthouse on 18 April 1979, evading authorities by jumping from the Kohtuotsa viewing platform on Toompea hill. He was arrested again after 87 days and sentenced to 15 years in jail, mostly in a high-security Russian facility. David Byrne (Irish criminal), David Byrne was shot dead on February 5, 2016 at the Regency Hotel in Whitehall, Dublin. Martin "The General" Cahill (23 May 1949 – 18 August 1994) was an Irish crime boss from Dublin. He masterminded a series of burglaries and armed robberies, and was shot and killed while out on bail for kidnapping charges. Crumlin-Drimnagh Feud
The Crumlin-Drimnagh feud is a feud between rival criminal gangs in south inner city Dublin, Ireland. The feud began in 2000 when a drugs seizure led to a split in a gang of young criminals in their late teens and early twenties, most of whom had grown up together and went to the same school. The resulting violence has led to 16 murders and scores of beatings, stabbings, shootings and pipe bomb attacks. Background By 2000 a group of young friends from Crumlin, Drimnagh and the south inner city had graduated from stealing cars and street dealing to become major suppliers of drugs in South Dublin. Murder Of David Douglas
David "Daithí" Douglas, an Irish zookeeper turned criminal, was shot dead on 1 July 2016. He had convictions dating from the 1980s as well as more recent ones and had survived a shooting the previous November. His murder is part of the Hutch–Kinahan feud.
