Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Aktiebolag or simply ''HVA''; {{IPA-sv, ˈhʉ̂ːsˌkvɑːɳa, pron, sv-Husqvarna.ogg) was a Swedish firearms manufacturing company in the town of Huskvarna by lake Vättern. History In 1689 the manager at the nearby state arsenal in Jönköping, Erik Dahlbergh, suggested to the King that the crown should support the construction of a new milling work at the waterfalls just outside Huskvarna. The new work should act as a branch of the Jönköping arsenal, where water supply had become irregular. The plans were approved and put into work the same year. Thanks to the Husqvarna branch, the annual production of barrels for muskets from the Jönköping arsenal increased from about 1,500 to over 12,000. Eventually all production was moved to Huskvarna and in 1757 the arsenal was privatized under the ownership of Fredrik Ehrenpreus. Founded as a firearms manufacturer in 1689, it is one of the oldest continuously running companies in the world. Husqvarna FF is a football club in Huskvarna, Sweden. The team is sponsored by the Husqvarna AB. History Husqvarna FF was founded on 3 February 1987 following the merger of the men's association football sections of Husqvarna IF and Huskvarna Södra IS. In its early years the new club played in Divisions 2 and 3. The club's fortunes improved in 1998 when the club finished with nine points ahead of Myresjö IF to win Division 2 Östra Götaland and gain promotion to Division 1 Södra, the second tier of Swedish football. However their stay in Division 1 was short-lived and they were relegated at the end of the 1999 season. Since 2006 the club has been playing in Division 1 Södra which is now the third tier of the Swedish football league system except the 2012 season when they played in Division 2 Östra Götaland. Husqvarna Motorcycles GmbH (; marketed as Husqvarna) is a Swedish-origin Austrian company which designs, engineers, manufactures and distributes motocross, enduro, supermoto and street motorcycles. VSM Group AB (Viking Sewing Machines), previously named Husqvarna Sewing Machines is a company based in Huskvarna, Sweden. Founded in 1872, the company is best known for "smart" (computerized) sewing machines and sergers under the brands ''Husqvarna Viking'' and ''Pfaff''. The VSM brand produces several lines of sewing machines, the top being the Designer series and the lowest being the mechanical (non-computerized) Huskystars.
