Husnes
Husnes is the largest village in Kvinnherad municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located on the southern shore of the Hardangerfjorden on the Folgefonna peninsula, about south of the village of Herøysund and immediately north of the villages of Sunde and Valen. The lake Onarheimsvatnet lies along the southwestern part of the village between Husnes and Sunde. The village has a population (2019) of 2,189 and a population density of . When the neighboring villages of Sunde and Valen are included, the entire urban area includes just under 4,500 people. Husnes is centered on the huge factory owned by ''Hydro'', formerly Sør-Norge Aluminium, and the village has become the center of commerce and education in Kvinnherad municipality, as well as the site of Husnes Church. Husnes Church
Husnes Church ( no, Husnes kyrkje; historically: ) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kvinnherad Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Husnes. It one of the three churches for the ''Husnes og Holmedal'' parish which is part of the Sunnhordland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1874 using plans drawn up by the architect J. Utne. The church seats about 280 people. History This church has existed since the middle ages. The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1337, but it was not new that year. Hydro Husnes, formerly Sør-Norge Aluminium AS or SØRAL is one of seven aluminium producers in Norway. The company is located in Husnes, Kvinnherad. The plant includes facilities for producing raw aluminium by electrolysis, casthouse for casting extrusion ingots, silos for storing aluminium oxide and a dock. Kvinnherad is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sunnhordland, along the Hardangerfjorden. The municipality was the 5th in size in former Hordaland county. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Rosendal. ''Kvinnheringen'' is a Norwegian regional newspaper for the Kvinnherad municipality in Vestland county. In print since 1973, it is currently released bi-weekly with more than 7000 readers and a circulation of 4 400 as of January 2021. Hardangerfjorden
The Hardangerfjord ( en, Hardanger Fjord) is the fifth longest fjord in the world, and the second longest fjord in Norway. It is located in Vestland county in the Hardanger region. The fjord stretches from the Atlantic Ocean into the mountainous interior of Norway along the Hardangervidda plateau. The innermost point of the fjord reaches the town of Odda. Location The Hardangerfjord starts at the Atlantic Ocean about south of the city of Bergen. Here the fjord heads in a northeasterly direction between the island of Bømlo and the mainland. Sunde is a village in Kvinnherad municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located along the Hardangerfjorden, just north of the island of Halsnøya. The northern entrance to the Halsnøy Tunnel is located in Sunde. The large urban village of Husnes lies just to the north of Sunde, on the other end of the lake Onarheimsvatnet.
