Hurum Line
The Hurum Line ( no, Hurumbanen) was a proposed railway line which would have connected Røyken and Hurum in Viken county, Norway. Launched during the Oslo Airport location controversy during the second half of the 1980s, its main purpose was to act as an airport rail link to serve the proposed national airport on Hurumlandet. The main proposal for the line called for a section of double track which would branch from the Spikkestad Line at Hallenskog. Construction of the Hurum Line would have seen of the Spikkestad Line upgraded to double track as well as upgrades to the Drammen Line. The distance from Hurum to Oslo is , with travel time estimated at 35 minutes. Alternative proposals were also made, such as building a bridge over the Oslofjord and connecting it to the Østfold Line, or the use of coaches and hovercraft. Hallenskog Station
Hallenskog Station ( no, Hallenskog holdeplass) is a closed railway station located at Hallenskog in Asker, Norway on the Spikkestad Line. The station was opened as part of the Drammen Line in 1959, but in 1973 the new Lieråsen Tunnel opened through Lieråsen, and the old part of the Drammen Line was transformed to a commuter train line. Østfold Line
The Østfold Line ( no, Østfoldbanen) is a railway line which runs from Oslo through the western parts of Follo and Østfold to Kornsjø in Norway. It continues through Sweden as the Norway/Vänern Line. The northern half is double track and the entire line is electrified. It serves a combination of commuter, regional and freight trains and is the main rail corridor in the south of Norway. The Follo Line runs parallel to the Østfold Line in tunnel. The Eastern Østfold Line branches off at Ski Station and runs before rejoining at Sarpsborg Station. The line opened as the Smaalenene Line () on 2 January 1879. Stations were designed by Peter Andreas Blix. It was the first railway in Norway to predominantly build bridges and viaducts with iron. Hobøl
Hobøl was a municipality in Østfold county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Elvestad. Hobøl is situated about southeast of Oslo. The parish of ''Haabøl'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The largest village in Hobøl was Tomter, whose railway station is served by Eastern Østfold Line. Other villages in the municipality were Knapstad, Ringvoll, and the middle part of the municipality which is called Hobøl. Fornebu (local form ''Fornebo'') is a peninsular area in the suburban municipality of Bærum in Norway, bordering western parts of Oslo. Oslo Airport, Fornebu (FBU) served as the main airport for Oslo and the country since before World War II and until the evening of October 7, 1998, when it was closed down. Oslo Airport, Fornebu ( no, Oslo lufthavn, Fornebu), was the primary international airport serving Oslo and Eastern Norway from 1 June 1939 to 7 October 1998. Gardermoen Line
The Gardermoen Line ( no, Gardermobanen) is a high-speed railway line between Oslo and Eidsvoll, Norway, running past Lillestrøm and Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. The line is long and replaced the older Hoved Line as the main line north-east of Oslo. The older Hoved Line now handles commuter and freight traffic, while the Gardermoen Line handles high-speed passenger trains and freight trains laden with jet fuel for the airport. Gardermoen is an area at the border of the municipalities Nannestad and Ullensaker in Viken, Norway. In 1998, it had a population of 259 people.
