Hurstville ZFC ''(also known as Hurstville Zagreb FC and Hurstville FC)'' is a soccer club based in the suburban district of St George, New South Wales, Australia. The club currently competes in the along with the NPL Juniors and on an Association level, in the Football St. George competitions. Being an Australian soccer club of Croatian heritage, it is affiliated and syndicated with the Croatian Soccer Association of Australia as well as Football Federation Australia. History Hurstville Zagreb was established by Croatian migrants on 23 November 1970. Registered with St George FA in 1971, the club rapidly advanced through several divisions until they reached the semi-professional NSW State League and became the second largest Croatian-heritage club in Sydney, behind Sydney United 58 FC, in the process. Penshurst () is a suburb in southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Penshurst is located 17 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is part of the St George area. Penshurst features low to medium-density housing. It has a predominantly older population however it is increasingly being populated by a new generation of migrant families who are attracted by its proximity to Hurstville. History Penshurst was named after Penshurst, Kent, England. Originally part of the land grant to Robert Townson (1763–1827), the land was acquired in 1830 by John Connell, who left it to his grandsons J.C. and E.P. Laycock. The Australian-Croatian Soccer Tournament is a tournament run by the Croatian Soccer Federation of Australia and New Zealand, an organisation founded in 1974. The inspiration for the tournament came from the successful Croatian-North American Soccer Tournament founded in 1964. The Australian tournament kicked off in 1974 with an event staged in Melbourne, Australia where six soccer clubs participated at Melbourne Croatia's ground Montgomery Park in Essendon. The tournament was born. Although only six clubs participated, it was the beginning, a beginning spawned from Croatia Melbourne's expulsion from the Victorian Soccer Federation, with the clubs leadership including Tony Vrzina and Josip Solic together with Mirko Furjanic the now Honorary President of the Australian Croatian Soccer Tournament being the forerunners in getting the tournament up and going. Ante Tomislav Moric (born 19 April 1974) is an Australian professional soccer coach and former player who is the head coach for Bankstown City FC. A midfielder, Moric represented Australia at youth, Olympic, and senior levels. After retirement he become a coach, initially at the Under 20 level at Sydney United in the NSW NPL, then St George, before being appointed head coach of Victorian NPL side Dandenong City in 2019.
