''Hunters'' is an album by American art rock band The Residents. Released in 1995, it is a soundtrack album commissioned for the Discovery Channel series ''Hunters: The World of Predators and Prey''. The entire album is ten hours long, the largest soundtrack project that The Residents had attempted. The series with the music first aired in December of 1994 and the soundtrack CD was released early in 1995. The Residents
The Residents are an American art collective and art rock band best known for their avant-garde music and multimedia works. Since their first official release, ''Meet the Residents'' (1974), they have released over 60 albums, numerous music videos and short films, three CD-ROM projects, and ten DVDs. They have undertaken seven major world tours and film score, scored multiple films. Pioneers in exploring the potential of CD-ROM and similar technologies, the Residents have won several awards for their multimedia projects. They founded Ralph Records, a record label focusing on avant-garde music, in 1972. Throughout the group's existence, the individual members have ostensibly attempted to work anonymously, preferring to have attention focused on their art. The Magic Shop was an American independent recording studio located at 49 Crosby Street in the SoHo neighborhood of Lower Manhattan in New York City. Established in 1988 by Steve Rosenthal, The Magic Shop hosted projects by David Bowie, Lou Reed, Foo Fighters, and others. History Musician and engineer Steve Rosenthal, who had worked with Herb Abramson at A-1 Sound Studios prior to co-founding Dreamland studios, established the Larry Carswell-designed studio in a loft space at 49 Crosby Street in SoHo in 1988. ''Gingerbread Man'' is an album by American art rock group The Residents, released in 1995. It was their first foray into computer graphics. Original versions of the CD were "enhanced" with animations that followed the music when played on a computer. The animations served as a basis for the costumes of the characters when a number of the songs were performed in the 25th anniversary shows in 1997.
