Hunter Steward
Hunter Steward (born December 23, 1991) is a Canadian football offensive lineman for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). College career Steward played college football with the Liberty Flames. Professional career BC Lions Steward was selected in the first round and sixth overall by the BC Lions in the 2013 CFL Draft. After completing his college eligibility, Steward signed with the team on March 25, 2014. It was announced on January 30, 2020, that Steward had signed a two-year extension to remain with the Lions. He became a free agent upon the expiry of his contract on February 8, 2022. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. A number of NFL rules specifically address restrictions and requirements for the offensive line, whose job is to help protect the quarterback from getting sacked for a loss, or worse, fumbling. The 2013 CFL season, 2013 CFL Draft took place on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 12:00 PM ET on The Sports Network, TSN. 60 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Interuniversity Sport, Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The Liberty Flames football program represents Liberty University, a private Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in college football. The Flames compete in NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as an independent. The program, which previously competed in Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), announced it would start a transition to the top level of NCAA football in July 2017.
