Hunter Morris
Jeffrey Hunter Morris (born October 7, 1988) is an American college baseball coach and former professional baseball first baseman. He is a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Alabama. Morris played college baseball at Auburn University from 2008 to 2010 for head coach John Pawlowski before pursuing a professional baseball career. College career Morris was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the second round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft out of Virgil I. Grissom High School in Huntsville, Alabama but did not sign and attended Auburn University. In 2009, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL), and participated in the league's All-Star Home Run Hitting contest. Alabama Crimson Tide Baseball
The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team represents the University of Alabama in NCAA Division I college baseball. Along with most other Alabama athletic teams, the baseball team participates in the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference. The team plays its home games on campus at Sewell–Thomas Stadium. History The Crimson Tide baseball team leads the SEC in all-time wins with over 2,500 victories. The program trails only LSU for the most SEC regular season titles with 13 and 7 tournament championships. John Pawlowski
John Pawlowski (born September 6, 1963) is an American baseball coach and former pitcher. He played college baseball at Clemson for coach Bill Wilhelm from 1983 to 1985 and in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 2 seasons from 1987 to 1988. He then served as head coach of the College of Charleston Cougars (2000–2008), the Auburn Tigers (2009–2013) and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (2016–2022). Playing career Pawlowski attended Seton Catholic Central High School in Binghamton, New York and played college baseball at Clemson. Pawlowski had a short career in the Major Leagues with the Chicago White Sox where he played on the 1987 and 1988 teams, appearing as a pitcher in eight total games. Coaching career On June 20, 2008, Pawlowski was named the head baseball coach of the Auburn Tigers. Southern League Most Valuable Player Award
The Southern League Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) is an annual award given to the best player in Minor League Baseball's Southern League based on their regular-season performance as voted on by league managers. League broadcasters, Minor League Baseball executives, and members of the media have previously voted as well. Though the league was established in 1964, the award was not created until 1972. After the cancellation of the 2020 season, the league was known as the Double-A South in 2021 before reverting to the Southern League name in 2022. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) is an association of baseball writers, broadcasters, and publicists in the United States. It was founded in 1962. The NCBWA compiles a preseason ranking of the top 35 teams in the nation, as voted on by its members. Falmouth Commodores
The Falmouth Commodores are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Falmouth, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's West Division. The Commodores play their home games at Arnie Allen Diamond at Guv Fuller Field in Falmouth. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues". Collegiate summer leagues allow college baseball players the ability to compete using professional rules and equipment, giving them experience and allowing professional scouts the opportunity to observe players under such conditions.
