Hunor Szőcs
Hunor Janos Szőcs (born 24 March 1992 in Târgu Mureș) is a Romanian professional table tennis player. He started playing Table Tennis in Târgu-Mureș, until he was 14 years old at which point he was transferred to Csm-Lps Bistrița, where he was a part of Olympic Center which was designed to train the boys national team. He became singles champion of Romania in 2012. Szőcs has a younger sister, Bernadette Bernadette is a French name, a female form of the name Bernard, which means "brave bear". Târgu Mureș (, ; hu, Marosvásárhely ) is the seat of Mureș County in the historical region of Transylvania, Romania. Table tennis, also known as ping-pong and whiff-whaff, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball, back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. It takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, the rules are generally as follows: Players must allow a ball played toward them to bounce once on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side. A point is scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. Bernadette Szőcs
Bernadette Cynthia Szőcs ( hu, Szőcs Bernadette Cynthia; born 5 March 1995) is a professional table tennis player from Romania who is currently at a career World Table Tennis (ITTF) high ranking of No. 11. Career In September 2011, she travelled to Argentina for the World Junior Circuit event where she overtook Kasumi Ishikawa to reach the top spot in the competition series. In July 2012, she was ranked 5th in the ITTF World Junior Circuit. Szőcs won the singles event in the inaugural season of T2, beating Feng Tianwei in the final. Bernadette started to play Table Tennis at 9 years of age for CS Gloria Bistrița-Năsăud. She was declared the 68th honorary citizen of Bistrița in 2018.
