Hungary National Bandy Team
Hungary national bandy team is competing for Hungary in the international bandy tournaments. History Austria-Hungary national bandy team participated in the 1913 European Bandy Championships but it is uncertain if there were any Hungarian players. Hungary national bandy team made its international debut in the Rossiya Tournament 1990 in Novosibirsk, Soviet Union. Hungary made its world championship debut in 1991, but the team has so far not reached any medals. On 6 January 2014 Hungary came in second in a four nation tournament in Davos, a centenary celebration of the European Championship of 1913. The other teams were Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Germany. Following the withdrawal by Canada, Hungary took its place in Division A at the 2018 WCS, marking the first time Hungary will compete in the elite division, after Division B was created. Hungarian Bandy Federation (Magyar Bandy Szövetség) is the governing body for bandy in Hungary. The headquarters is in Budapest. Four Nation Bandy Tournament In 2014
The four nation bandy tournament in 2014 was held as a centenary celebration of the 1913 European Bandy Championships. On 6 January 2014 the Federation of International Bandy together with the Federation of Swiss Bandy arranged a four nation tournament in Davos to celebrate the anniversary of the 1913 European Championship. 2007 Bandy World Championship
The 2007 Bandy World Championship was held in Kemerovo, Russia, 27 January – 4 February 2007. Men's national teams from 12 countries participated in the 2007 tournament: Belarus, Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, Sweden (group A) and Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Mongolia, the Netherlands and the United States (group B). Canada was initially also supposed to take part in the tournament but withdrew so Latvia took its place. Belarus retained their place in group A by beating the United States in a playoff at the end of the previous tournament held in 2006. The local time in Kemerovo is UTC+7. 2006 Bandy World Championship
The 2006 Bandy World Championship was held in Sweden 28 January-5 February. There were men's national teams from 12 countries participating in the 2006 tournament: Belarus, Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, Sweden (group A) and Canada, Estonia, Hungary, Mongolia, the Netherlands, the United States (group B). Bidding In February 2004, Hälsingland expressed its interest for hosting the tournament, with the final game intended to be played inside the Edsbyn Arena to avoid being affected by weather conditions. 2004 Bandy World Championship
The 2004 Bandy World Championship was a competition between bandy playing nations. The men's tournament was played in Sweden on 1–8 February 2004 for Group A and Group B was played at the City Park Ice Rink in Hungary on 25–28 February 2004. Finland won the championship for the 1st time. There were 11 bandy playing countries participating in the 2004 championships: Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, Sweden (group A) and Belarus, Canada, Estonia, Hungary, Netherlands and United States (group B). 1997 Bandy World Championship
The 1997 Bandy World Championship was contested between 9 men's bandy playing nations. The championship was played in Sweden on 1–9 February 1997. The Netherlands participated again, after having skipped the tournament for the last couple of times. Sweden won the championship. The 1995 Bandy World Championship was contested between 8 men's Bandy playing nations. The championship was played at Guidant John Rose Minnesota Oval in Roseville, Minnesota, United States on 29 January – 5 February 1995, so far the only time the men's championship has been played in America. 2022 Bandy World Championship
The 2022 Bandy World Championship was to be held from 27 March to 3 April 2022 in Syktyvkar, Russia. History The championship was originally scheduled to take place from 30 March to 4 April 2021 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Federation of International Bandy (FIB) had announced that the 2020 Division A tournament in Irkutsk would be finalised in October 2021, and the subsequent World Championship in Syktyvkar (originally scheduled for 2021) would instead be played in 2022. On 24 August 2021, Sweden announced its withdrawals from the competition in Irkutsk, due to the continued threat of COVID-19; Finland and Norway had already made the same decisions earlier. Subsequently, on 30 August 2021, the FIB decided to postpone the championships once again, now to March - April 2022. 2018 Bandy World Championship
The 2018 Bandy World Championship was the 38th Bandy World Championship between men's bandy teams. The tournament took place in China and Russia. Division A matches were played in the Russian city of Khabarovsk and Division B matches in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. Participating teams and officials Eight nations were qualified for the Division A, where the matches were played in Khabarovsk, Russia. Canada would have made its return to Division A, as it won in the Division B last year, but declined to participate and was replaced by Hungary. Germany National Bandy Team
Germany national bandy team (german: Deutsche Bandynationalmannschaft der Herren) is a bandy team competing for Germany in the international bandy and rink bandy tournaments. The German Empire national bandy team participated the 1913 European Bandy Championships in Davos. After a long time with no organised bandy in Germany, the German Bandy Federation (Deutscher Bandy-Bund) was established in June 2013 and the new national bandy team was formed in September 2013. In January 2014 the German team participated in the four nation bandy tournament in Davos, Switzerland, a centenary celebration of the 1913 European Championship.
