Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The local Media Services and Support Trust Fund (MTVA) and the Hungarian broadcaster Duna Media Service organised the national final ''2019'' in order to select the Hungarian entry for the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv, Israel. As of 2023, this was Hungary's last entry in the contest, before the country withdrew the following year. The absence has continued in every edition since. József "Joci" Pápai (; born 22 September 1981) is a Hungarian singer, rapper and guitarist of Romani people in Hungary, Romani descent. He represented Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Origo (song), Origo" finishing in 8th place. He represented Hungary again at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "". Life Mező was raised in Doboz with his parents and three siblings: Kitti, Tünde and Róbert. Lilla Vincze (born 5 June 1961) is a Hungarian singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of pop band Napoleon Boulevard. Life Vincze was born on 5 June 1961 in Siófok, Hungary. Her career began in 1986 with her joining the band Napoleon Boulevard when they won the Interpop Festival. She was initially in the band until 1990, after which she worked with István Cziglán. In the mid-2000s she started to write songs with a crossover style, and in 2008, she released the album ''Angyalnak, madárnak''. In 2009, Napoleon Boulevard reunited. Beatrice (band)
Beatrice (or simply Ricse, sometimes referred to as ''Nagy Feró és a Beatrice'' or ''Nagyferó és a Beatrice'') is a Hungarian rock band. It was founded in 1969 as a women's band, and played mostly cover songs. In 1971, Nagy Feró joined the band as a frontman. In the following years, the members were gradually replaced, and from 1974 they began to write their own songs in the then popular glam rock style. In order to get a record deal the band became oriented towards disco music from 1976. The group disbanded in 1977, and in the following year, Beatrice was reunited as a rock band by Nagy Feró with bassist Miklóska Lajos, guitarist Lugosi László, keyboardist Gidófalvy Attila, and drummer Donászy Tibor, and started playing rock in a similar style to AC/DC. Ferenc "Feró" Nagy (born 14 January 1946 in Letenye, Hungary) is a Hungary, Hungarian rock singer and musician. Although not proficient on any instrument, he can play the guitar, the harmonica, the saxophone and the piano. Career Feró studied at the Polytechnic and earned a degree in engineering. He began singing in rock bands as a hobby in the 1960s. He became famous as the singer, frontman and songwriter of the band Beatrice (band), Beatrice in the late 1970s.
