Hung I-Hsiang
Hung I-Hsiang or Hong Yixiang () (1925–1993) was a Taiwanese martial artist who specialized in the internal Chinese styles of xingyiquan, baguazhang, and taijiquan. Hung I-Hsiang was born in Taiwan. He studied with Chang Chun-Feng (), a master of internal Chinese martial arts from Northern China. Chang introduced these arts to Taiwan in 1948, when he moved there following the Chinese Communist Revolution. Initially, Chang was met with resistance from mainlanders on Taiwan who objected to his teaching the secrets of internal martial arts to native Taiwanese such as Hung. When Chang began teaching in the northern part of Taipei, his first group of core students included the three Hung brothers: Hung I-Hsiang, Hung I-Wen, and Hung I-Mien. Taijiquan
Tai chi (), short for Tai chi ch'üan ( zh, s=太极拳, t=太極拳, first=t, p=Tàijíquán, labels=no), sometimes called "shadowboxing", is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for defense training, health benefits and meditation. Tai chi has practitioners worldwide from Asia to the Americas. Early practitioners such as Yang Chengfu and Sun Lutang promoted the art for its health benefits beginning in the early 20th century. Its global following may be attributed to overall benefit to personal health. Many forms are practiced, both traditional and modern. Marcus Valerius Martialis (known in English as Martial ; March, between 38 and 41 AD – between 102 and 104 AD) was a Roman poet from Hispania (modern Spain) best known for his twelve books of ''Epigrams'', published in Rome between AD 86 and 103, during the reigns of the emperors Domitian, Nerva and Trajan. Baguazhang or Pakua chang () is one of the three main Chinese martial arts of the Wudang school, the other two being T'ai chi and Xing Yi Quan. Wu (Hao)-style T'ai Chi Ch'uan
Wu (Hao)-style t'ai chi ch'uan, t'ai chi ch'üan was created by Wu Yuxiang (, birth name Wu Heqing, , 1812?–1880?), a member of a wealthy and influential family in Yongnian, Hebei, China. Wu trained for approximately ten years with the founder of Yang-style t'ai chi ch'uan, Yang-style t'ai chi, and then for over a month with a Chen-style t'ai chi ch'uan, Chen-style master. Wu also obtained a manual on internal martial arts that formed the core of what are now known as the Tai chi classics, T'ai Chi Ch'üan Classics and include Wu's own writing on the subject.
