The Hume Australian Football Netball League (HFNL), often shortened to Hume Football League, is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing twelve clubs based in the South West Slopes and southern Riverina regions of New South Wales, Australia. The league features four grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade, Under 17s and Under 14s. In the netball competition, there are six grades, with these being A-Grade, B-Grade, C-Grade, C-Reserve Grade, Intermediates and Juniors. Currently, a home and away season consisting of 18 rounds is played. The best six teams then play-off according to the McIntyre System, culminating in the HFL Grand Final, which is traditionally hosted by Walbundrie. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Tallangatta & District Football League
The Tallangatta and District Football League (TDFL) is an Australian rules football competition in north-east Victoria and the southern border area of Riverina region of the New South Wales. The clubs compete across four competitions, two of which are age restricted (Under 17s, and Under 14s). Since 1980 the "Tallangatta & District Netball Association (TDNA)" has run in conjunction with the Tallangatta & District Football League. The clubs compete across six competitions, three of which are age restricted (18 & Under, 15 & Under, and 13 & Under). Osborne, New South Wales
Osborne is a village community in the central east part of the Riverina. It is situated by road, about 15 kilometres south from Lockhart and west from Woodend. Gumholes Post Office opened on 1 September 1900, was renamed Osborne in 1902 and closed in 1951. Sport and Recreation The Osborne Football Club was first established in 1900 as the Napier South FC. The new community around Gum Holes Creek came together and organised a social game of football against Lockhart. This team was called ‘Napier South’ and were affectionally known as "The Gumholes". The game was played on some cleared land on Fraser's farm near the present day Uniting Church. Even though Napier South only scored one goal, they thought it was a good attempt against a regular team from Lockhart. The North Albury Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Hoppers'', is an Australian rules football and netball club playing in the Ovens & Murray Football League (O&MFL). They are incorporated as part of the North Albury Sports Club licensed club at Bunton Park in North Albury, Albury, where they play their home matches. The club has won six O&MFL premierships. The Hoppers currently play in forest green guernseys with a gold vee and the "Hopper" logo on the right side. Brocklesby is a town in the Riverina region of south west New South Wales, Australia. The town is in the Greater Hume Shire Council local government area, north-west of the regional centre of Albury. Balldale, New South Wales
Balldale is a village in the mid-southern part of the Riverina in New South Wales, Australia. It is about north-east of Corowa and about west of Brocklesby. Balldale was established when the large farm holding of the Quat Quatta Estate was sub-divided in the early 1900s, and named in honour of local politician Richard Ball (1857-1937). Balldale Post Office opened on 1 June 1905. The Balldale Hotel was built in 1905 by Albert Beard.
