Humberto Calzada
Humberto Calzada (born May 25, 1944, in Havana) is a Cuban-American artist living in Miami, Florida, since 1960. Life in America Calzada's family left Cuba shortly after the communist takeover of Fidel Castro, on October 11, 1960. He attended and graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School. He would later attend the University of Miami where he graduated as an Industrial Engineering in 1966, and the University of Miami where he also earned an MBA in Finance in 1968. In 1976, Calzada decided to pursue painting as a full-time career. The subject of most of his art is the architecture of Cuba particularly Havana's colonial and neo-classical architecture. Calzada's work is in numerous museums as well as in private, corporate, and public collections. In 2006, the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami presented a thirty-year Retrospective of his work titled "Humberto Calzada: In Dreams Awake." Calzada resides in Miami. Humberto Castro (born Humberto Jesús Castro García in 1957 in Havana, Cuba) is an important Cuban painter. He studied at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes "San Alejandro" and at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana, Cuba. In 1980 he became part of the Taller Experimental de Gráfica (TEG), Havana, and from 1982 until 1985 he was also member of the ''Equipo de Creación Colectiva Hexágono'', Havana. Humberto Bruni Lamanna, (born March 26, 1957, Caracas Venezuela) descended from an Italian family, is a Classical Guitar concert artist. Musical studies The musical studies of Humberto Bruni began at age fourteen, when he took the first music lessons from his father, Blas Bruni Celli. Shortly, he began his studies as a guitar performer under the guidance of Flaminia De Sola, at the "Juan Manuel Olivares" Conservatory of Music, in Caracas. Flaminia De Sola was a distinguished disciple of Andrés Segovia at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy, founded by Count Guido Chigi-Saracini in 1932 as an international centre for advanced musical studies. Humberto Manuel de Jesus Coelho (born 20 April 1950) is a Portuguese retired footballer and manager. In a career mainly associated with Benfica, the central defender also competed professionally in France and the United States, during a 16-year career. He is a four-time Mexican national champion ('02, '03, '05, '09) and competed in the final segment at six Four Continents Championships. Career Contreras began learning to skate in 1997. Humberto Luís Rodrigues Barbosa, (born 8 August 1961 in Funchal, Madeira) is a Portuguese nutritionist. He completed his college education in England in 1983 when he obtained a PhD in nutrition. Humberto ''"Cacho"'' Costantini (April 8, 1924 – June 7, 1987) was an Argentinian writer and poet whose work was influenced by Buenos Aires slang (porteño). Humberto Brenes (; born May 8, 1951) is a Costa Rican professional poker player. Brenes currently resides in Miami Lakes, Florida with his wife (Patricia) and three children (José Humberto, Roberto, Jessica). Brenes began his gambling career playing baccarat, but later made his way into poker. He started to play tournaments in 1974 and became a regular tournament player in 1988. Humberto Carlos Nelson Cruz Silva (, born 8 December 1939) is a Chilean retired footballer that played in two FIFA World Cups (1962, Chile third place, and 1966) as centre back, despite his short height.
