The ''Human Technology EP'' is an extended play released by the composer BT in 2005 under the Human Imprint label. It contains two remixes of two different songs from BT's fourth studio album, '' Emotional Technology''. The two songs remixed were "Knowledge of Self", a track featuring the Gang Starr rapper Guru, and "The Great Escape", a track featuring Caroline Lavelle Caroline Lavelle is an English singer-songwriter and cellist who has created three solo albums and contributed vocals, music, and production help to many other artists and bands. Human Imprint
Human Imprint Recordings is an American drum and bass record label founded by Damian Higgins (professional name DJ Dieselboy) in New York City in 2002. Human began as a subsidiary of System Recordings and is mostly known for high energy releases in subgenres including techstep, hardstep and darkstep. In July 2009, Human Imprint parted ways amicably with System Recordings, and Dieselboy created the SubHuman : Human Imprint for dubstep and electro releases. Overview The label's album art encompasses conceptual themes based in science fiction and fantasy. Some of the graphics are created by Higgins himself. The Technology EP
''The Technology EP'' is a 2004 EP release from BT. The EP consists of 6 remixes of songs from his 2003 album '' Emotional Technology''. It serves as a semi-official release of "Superfabulous", "The Force of Gravity" and "The Great Escape" as singles. Additional features In addition to the six tracks, there are bonus features included on the disc. The music video for " Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved)", the first single from ''Emotional Technology'', is included. This Binary Universe
''This Binary Universe'' is the fifth studio album by the composer and electronica artist Brian Transeau, BT. It was released on August 29, 2006. The album was a significant about-face for Transeau, largely abandoning the Progressive electronic dance music, progressive trance music he was known for, in favor of ambient soundscapes, live orchestration and glitch (music), glitch music. It is the first BT album not to be released on Grammophone record, vinyl, nor feature any singles (though an edit of "1.618" was featured on a compilation). The album was also composed specifically for Digital Theater System, DTS Surround sound, 5.1 surround sound. A film version of the album received a limited theatrical run, usually accompanied by appearances by Transeau himself. The album is dedicated to Transeau's daughter, Kaia. ''Emotional Technology'' is the fourth studio album by electronica artist BT. Transitioning towards a more pop music oriented sound, the album features some of BT's more commercially successful releases, including "Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved)", "The Force of Gravity" and "Superfabulous". "Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved)" holds the Guinness World Record for most vocal edits in a single track, with 6,178 in the album version. The album features vocal performances by JC Chasez, Rose McGowan, and BT himself, among others. Background The album's intro consists of a backwards sample of "Satellite", the closing track of ''Movement'', followed by reversed samples of "Somnambulist" and "Dark Heart Dawning" from ''Emotional Technology''. Gang Starr
Gang Starr was an American hip hop duo, consisting of Texas record producer DJ Premier and Massachusetts rapper Guru. For the entirety of their association, they were based out of Brooklyn, New York. Gang Starr was at its height from 1989 to 2003, and are considered one of the best MC-and-producer duos in hip hop history. They are recognized for being one of the pioneers of jazz rap. Some of their top hits include " Mass Appeal", "Take It Personal", "Moment of Truth", "Full Clip" and "Above The Clouds". Keith Edward Elam (July 17, 1961April 19, 2010), better known by his stage name Guru (a backronym for Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal), was an American rapper and record producer. He was a member of the hip hop duo Gang Starr, along with DJ Premier. He was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts. In 2012, About.com placed him #49 on their list of Top 50 MCs of Our Time, and ''The Source'' ranked him #30 on their list of Top 50 Lyricists of All Time, saying "Guru dropped some of the most thoughtful rhymes on wax". Guru died on April 19, 2010, from myeloma at age 48. Early life Elam was born in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Caroline Lavelle is an English singer-songwriter and cellist who has created three solo albums and contributed vocals, music, and production help to many other artists and bands. Career Lavelle studied at the Royal College of Music in London. Throughout the early to mid-eighties she busked in the city, often outside Kensington Tube Station and Covent Garden, playing baroque music with Anne Stephenson and Virginia Astley (or Virginia Hewes; sources are confused) in a group called ''Humouresque''. She was spotted by Frankie Gavin, a member of Ireland's De Dannan band, who asked her to join. She was part of the band up to the early nineties, alongside Mary Black and Dolores Keane. Evol Intent
Evol Intent is a hardstep drum and bass group formed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. in 2000. The group is composed of The Enemy (Ashley Jones), Knick ( Nick Weiller), and Gigantor (Mike Diasio). The trio has released several singles on their own label Evol Intent Recordings as well as Dieselboy's Human Imprint and Barcode Recordings, and performed as headliners for several Therapy Sessions events. They are also known for their contributions with Lifted Music Group. In 2005, Evol Intent provided a continuous mix for the second CD of Dieselboy's compilation '' The Human Resource''.
