Hullabahoos
The Hullabahoos are a student-run, all-male '' a cappella'' group at the University of Virginia. The group was founded in 1987 by Halsted Sullivan and recorded its 19th studio album in 2014. They have appeared as the fictional group " Here Comes Treble" on an episode of NBC's ''The Office'', performed at the 2004 Republican National Convention, Washington Nationals baseball games, '' Good Morning America'', the Philippines, weddings, and private parties. Other performance requests have included invitations from the White House, the Kennedy Center, and NBC's ''The Today Show''. History Originally friends, the group was founded on December 8, 1987 at the University of Virginia. They don't use instruments and wear robes while performing. The group's history has taken them around the world and allowed them to record several studio albums in what they refer to on their album inserts as "Hullabasound". Here Comes Treble
"Here Comes Treble" is the fifth episode of the ninth season of the American comedy television series ''The Office''. The episode originally aired on NBC on October 25, 2012. It guest stars Stephen Colbert as Andy's college friend Broccoli Rob and Ben Silverman as an investor. The series depicts the everyday lives of office employees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Virginia Gentlemen
The Virginia Gentlemen (VGs) is a lower voices collegiate a cappella group and the oldest a cappella group at the University of Virginia. The group was founded in 1953 as an elite octet of the Virginia Glee Club. Since establishing independence from the Virginia Glee Club in 1987, the group has continued to perform a mix of contemporary pop and classic vocal music. Recognizable by the signature navy blue blazers and orange-and-blue bow ties worn during performances, the VGs offer regular performances across the Charlottesville area and the United States, and conduct annual international tours, having most recently traveled to Guatemala, Los Cabos and California. The University of Connecticut (UConn) is a public land-grant research university in Storrs, Connecticut, a village in the town of Mansfield. Eli Banana
The Eli Banana Ribbon Society is the oldest secret society at the University of Virginia. Founded in 1878 as a way to encourage the fraternities to engage more directly in the life of the University, the aim of the society was to bring its members to leadership in the University community and to "create an association of congenial spirits among the students." While initially successful in dominating various student organizations, including the Jefferson Society, the Football Board, and the social scene, the organization took on a more lax tone over the succeeding years and became most famous for its "bacchanalian" Easter parades with which the elections of new members were marked. Secret Societies At The University Of Virginia
Secret societies have been a part of University of Virginia student life since the first class of students in 1825. While the number of societies peaked during the 75-year period between 1875 and 1950, there are still six societies (Seven Society, Z Society, IMP Society, Eli Banana, T.I.L.K.A., The Thirteen Society) active that are over 100 years old, and several newer societies (the A.N.G.E.L.S. Society, the Purple Shadows, The 21 Society, The Order of Claw & Dagger, P.U.M.P.K.I.N., Ls, the Sons and Daughters of Liberty, the Roommates Society, The O.W.L. Society, the One, and The Thursdays Society).
