Huilongguan
Huilongguan (回龙观) is a suburban residential neighborhood in northern Beijing, located in Changping District, 33 km north of the city. Originally, a satellite town, Huilongguan has grown to become part of the extended Beijing metropolis inside the 6th Ring Road. History During the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Hongzhi established a Taoist temple in what is now Huilongguan. This temple, named Xuanfu Palace, began construction in 1504 and was completed 12 years later, under the Zhengde Emperor. The temple later came to be known as Huilongguan. After its completion, the temple was often used by the Ming emperors as a stopping place between the Forbidden City and the Ming tombs at Tianshou Mountain. This may explain why the temple was also known as Huilongguan (Returning Dragon View). Line 8 of the Beijing Subway () is a rapid transit line in Beijing. It sits on the central axis of Beijing. Line 8's color is green. It is in length with 35 stations (34 in operation). Line 13 of the Beijing Subway () is a metro line that serves the northern suburbs of Beijing. On a map, Line 13's route is shaped like an inverted U that arcs north of the city and connects residential suburbs in Haidian, Changping and Chaoyang Districts with the 2nd Ring Road and Line 2 at Xizhimen and Dongzhimen. With the exception of and a tunnel between Xi'erqi and Longze, all of Line 13's tracks and stations are located on the surface or elevated above ground. Changping District
Changping District (), formerly Changping County (), is a district situated in the suburbs of north and northwest Beijing. History Changping County and Jundu County which administered the area were established in the Han Dynasty. Changping was incorporated into Jundu when the Northern Wei dominated; however, the condition was reversed since the Eastern Wei. The county was promoted as Changping subprefecture had jurisdiction over Miyun, Shunyi and Huairou, in the era of Zhengde during the Ming Dynasty. These three counties were transferred to Shuntian Prefecture in the era of Yongzheng during the Qing Dynasty. Taoist Temple
A Taoist temple (, also called ''dàoguàn'' and , is a place where the Tao is observed and cultivated it is a place of worship in Taoism. Structure and function can vary according to the Taoist school the temple belongs to. For example, ''guàn'' of the Quanzhen School are monasteries where celibate Taoist priests live. Zhengde Emperor
The Zhengde Emperor (; 26 October 149120 April 1521) was the 11th Emperor of the Ming dynasty, reigned from 1505 to 1521. Born Zhu Houzhao, he was the Hongzhi Emperor's eldest son. Zhu Houzhao took the throne at only 14 with the era name Zhengde, meaning "right virtue" or "rectification of virtue". He was known for favoring eunuchs such as Liu Jin and became infamous for his childlike behavior. He eventually died at age 29 from an illness he contracted after drunkenly falling off a boat into the Yellow River. He left behind no sons and was succeeded by his first cousin Zhu Houcong. Early years Zhu Houzhao was made crown prince at a very early age and because his father did not take up any other concubines, Zhu did not have to contend with other princes for the throne.
