Hui Yin-fat
Hui Yin-fat, OBE, JP (; 28 April 1936 – 7 December 2016) was a Hong Kong social worker and politician. He was a long-time director of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and was elected member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for Social Services, member of the Executive Council in 1991 and member of the Provisional Legislative Council. Biography Hui was born in Guangzhou, China in 1936 and was educated at the La Salle College and King's College before he was enrolled into the University of Hong Kong. He joined the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, an umbrella group of social work organisations, in 1967 after he obtained a master's degree from the Western Reserve University and was the director of the council from 1973 to 2001. He was one of the first members to be elected to the Legislative Council of Hong Kong when he stood for the Social Services functional constituency, representing social workers, in the first indirect election in 1985. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with, but not members of, the order. Recommendations for appointments to the Order of the British Empire were originally made on the nomination of the United Kingdom, the self-governing Dominions of the Empire (later Commonwealth) and the Viceroy of India. David Clive Wilson
David Clive Wilson, Baron Wilson of Tillyorn, (, born 14 February 1935) is a retired British administrator, diplomat and Sinologist. He was the penultimate Commander-in-Chief and 27th Governor of Hong Kong (from 1987 to 1992). He served as Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the British Monarch's representative to the Assembly, in 2010 and 2011. Democratic Party (Hong Kong)
The Democratic Party (DP) is a centre-left liberal political party in Hong Kong. Chaired by Lo Kin-hei, it is the flagship party in the pro-democracy camp and currently has 7 elected representatives in the District Councils. The party was established in 1994 in a merger of the United Democrats of Hong Kong and Meeting Point in preparation for the 1995 Legislative Council election. The party won a landslide victory, received over 40 percent of the popular vote and became the largest party in the legislature in the final years of the British colonial era.
