Huhí Municipality
Huhí Municipality (, in the Yucatec Maya language: “place of the iguanas”) is a municipality in the Mexican state of Yucatán containing of land and located roughly southeast of the city of Mérida. It is bounded on the north by Sanahcat, on the south by Sotuta and Tekit, and on the east and west by Kantunil Homún. History During pre-Hispanic times, the town existed but it is unclear which chieftainship it was part of. After the conquest the area became part of the encomienda system. One of the first encomendaros was Joaquín Cárdenas y Díaz, with 734 Indians in his custody. Yucatán declared its independence from the Spanish Crown in 1821 and in 1825, the area was assigned to the Beneficios Bajos region with its headquarters in Sotuta. In 1900 Huhí was elevated to a municipality. Its development began in 1821. Huhi received its Shield and Weapons Certification on 30 November 1997. Iguana
''Iguana'' (, ) is a genus of herbivorous lizards that are native to tropical areas of Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. The genus was first described in 1768 by Austrian naturalist Josephus Nicolaus Laurenti in his book ''Specimen Medicum, Exhibens Synopsin Reptilium Emendatam cum Experimentis circa Venena''. Two species are placed in the genus, the green iguana, which is widespread throughout its range and a popular pet, and the Lesser Antillean iguana, which is native to the Lesser Antilles. Genetic analysis indicates that the green iguana may comprise a complex of multiple species, some of which have been recently described, but the Reptile Database considers all of these as subspecies of the green iguana. The ''encomienda'' () was a Spanish labour system that rewarded conquerors with the labour of conquered non-Christian peoples. The labourers, in theory, were provided with benefits by the conquerors for whom they laboured, including military protection and education. The Spanish conquest of Yucatán was the campaign undertaken by the Spanish ''conquistadores'' against the Late Postclassic Maya states and polities in the Yucatán Peninsula, a vast limestone plain covering south-eastern Mexico, northern Guatemala, and all of Belize. Mérida, Yucatán
Mérida () is the capital of the Mexican state of Yucatán, and the largest city in southeastern Mexico. The city is also the seat of the eponymous Municipality. It is located in the northwest corner of the Yucatán Peninsula, about 35 km (22 mi) inland from the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Yucatán is a state in southeastern Mexico that is divided into 106 municipalities, organized into 7 administrative regions. Choi Jae-hyun ( ko, 최재현), better known as huhi, is a South Korean professional '' League of Legends'' player for Golden Guardians of the LCS. Career Huhi joined his first major team in North America when he became a member of Counter Logic Gaming in 2015.
