Hugon Hanke
Hugon Hanke (26 March 1904 – 19 December 1964) was a Polish politician, best known for being 38th Prime Minister of Poland and 8th Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland in Exile (in 1955) and for his unexpected return to the Communist-ruled country while serving as PM. He was involved in politics during the Second Polish Republic before World War II. He was an active member of the Christian Workers Union (''Chrześcijańskie Związki Zawodowe'') and of the Labour Party (''Stronnictwo Pracy'') in Silesia. During the war he served as a soldier in the Polish army in the West. After Prime Minister in Exile Stanisław Mackiewicz fled back to Poland, Hanke was named as his successor by President August Zaleski and served from 8 August to 10 September 1955. Like his predecessor, he left London and fled to Poland. According to many documents, he was, before his return to Poland, a Communist secret agent for over three years. Kazimierz Okulicz
Kazimierz (; la, Casimiria; yi, קוזמיר, Kuzimyr) is a historical district of Kraków and Kraków Old Town, Poland. From its inception in the 14th century to the early 19th century, Kazimierz was an independent city, a royal city of the Crown of the Polish Kingdom, located south of the Old Town of Kraków, separated from it by a branch of the Vistula river. For many centuries, Kazimierz was a place where ethnic Polish and Jewish cultures coexisted and intermingled. The northeastern part of the district was historically Jewish. In 1941, the Jews of Kraków were forcibly relocated by the German occupying forces into the Krakow ghetto just across the river in Podgórze, and most did not survive the war. Antoni Pająk (; 31 July 1893, Bestwina - 25 November 1965, London) was a Polish socialist (member of the Polish Socialist Party) politician, who served as 39th Prime Minister of Poland and 9th Prime Minister in exile for nearly ten years (1955-1965). From 1914 until 1917 he was a member of Polish Legions, led by Józef Piłsudski. In later years (1918-1919) he served in new Polish Armed Forces, created after independence. He joined PPS in 1919. From 1920 until 1937 he was a member of party leadership. He also served as Sejm Member from 1928 to 1930. In 1940 he was arrested by Soviets and imprisoned in a labour camp in Siberia. August Zaleski (13 September 1883 – 7 April 1972) was a Polish economist, freemason, politician, and diplomat. Twice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, he served as President of Poland- in-exile. Life and career August Zaleski was born in Warsaw on 13 September 1883. In 1901 he graduated from a gymnasium in Praga and became librarian to the Krasiński family, but later moved to London, where he graduated with a master's degree from the London School of Economics. He was unable to return to Poland during World War I and, in 1917, started giving lectures in Polish in London.
