Hugo Faria
Hugo Miguel da Encarnação Pires Faria (born 15 February 1983) is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in São Brás de Alportel, Faro District, Faria played youth football for three clubs, including FC Porto from ages 16 to 18. He started his senior career with Louletano DC, with which he spent three seasons in the third division. Faria moved straight to the Primeira Liga in the summer of 2004, signing with U.D. Leiria. He made his debut as a professional on 7 November, coming on as a late substitute in a 1–0 away win against Académica de Coimbra; it would be the first of only two league appearances during the season. From 2008 to 2013, Faria competed in the Cypriot First Division, always with Enosis Neon Paralimni FC. São Brás de Alportel () is a town and municipality in the District of Faro, Algarve region, in Portugal. The population in 2011 was 10,662, in an area of 153.37 km². ''Record'' is a Portuguese sports newspaper, founded in 1949 by Manuel Dias, published in Lisbon. Although it covers most sports, football is the focal point of it, and almost always is the only sport referred to on the cover. History and profile ''Record'' was founded by Manuel Dias. The Cypriot First Division ( el, Πρωτάθλημα Α΄ Κατηγορίας) is the top tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Since February 2016, it is sponsored by Cyta and is thus officially known as the Cyta Championship. The 2008–09 Cypriot First Division was the seventy season of top-tier football on Cyprus. It started on 30 August 2008 and ended on 10 May 2009. The defending champions were Anorthosis. APOEL won the championship three matchweeks before the end of the season. This year, for the second time, the championship also featured a group stage play-off system. The 2004–05 Primeira Liga was the 71st edition of top flight of Portuguese football. It started on 28 August 2004 with a match between Belenenses and Marítimo, and ended on 22 May 2005. Benfica won their 31st league title, with 65 points, three points ahead of the defending champions Porto. The league was contested by 18 clubs, and was considered one of the most competitive seasons in recent years. The first goal of the season was scored by Belenenses centre-back Rolando.
