Hugo Bagnulo
Víctor Hugo Bagnulo Fernández (23 July 1915 – 7 February 2008) was a Uruguayan football player and manager. He is most famous for his managing success at Uruguayan giants Peñarol, with whom he won five national league titles. Career Bagnulo's playing career spanned 12 years from 1935 to 1947, during which he played as a defender for Uruguayan sides Central Español, Defensor and Danubio. His first coaching experience came on Defensor's tour in Chile in 1946, where he led the club to a 6–0 victory in a friendly against Chilean club Colo-Colo. He was also capped once for Uruguay, appearing in a Copa Newton 4–1 defeat to Argentina on 25 May 1942. In 1947, he joined Danubio, where he was at the same time a player and youth coach. The European/South American Cup, more commonly known as the Intercontinental Cup and from 1980 to 2004 as the Toyota European/South American Cup (abbreviated as Toyota Cup) for sponsorship reasons, was an international football competition endorsed by UEFA (Europe) and CONMEBOL (South America), contested between representative clubs from these confederations (representatives of most developed continents in the football world), usually the winners of the UEFA Champions League and the South American Copa Libertadores. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The Teresa Herrera Trophy ( es, Trofeo Teresa Herrera) is an annual pre-season football tournament hosted by Deportivo La Coruña at the Estadio Riazor. Established in 1946, it is the third oldest professional football tournament in Spain (behind the "Trofeo Playa y Sol" (1901) and "Copa San Pedro" (1941)). Roberto Porta (; 7 June 1913 – 2 January 1984) was a Uruguayan– Italian footballer who played as a forward. During his club career he played for Nacional (Uruguay), Inter (Italy) and Independiente (Argentina). The 1974 FIFA World Cup was the tenth FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams, and was played in West Germany (and West Berlin) between 13 June and 7 July. The tournament marked the first time that the current trophy, the FIFA World Cup Trophy, created by the Italian sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga, was awarded. The previous trophy, the Jules Rimet Trophy, had been won for the third time by Brazil in 1970 and awarded permanently to the Brazilians. Juan Carlos Corazzo
Juan Carlos Corazzo (14 December 1907 – 12 January 1986) was a Uruguayan football player and manager. Career Corazzo played for Argentine club Independiente in the 1930s. Corazzo later coached Uruguay at the 1962 FIFA World Cup. The 1962 FIFA World Cup was the seventh edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football championship for senior men's national teams. It was held from 30 May to 17 June 1962 in Chile. Roberto Scarone
Roberto Scarone Rivera (16 July 1917 – 25 April 1994) was a Uruguayan football player and manager. He is mainly known for his successful managing spell at the helm of the Uruguayan powerhouse Peñarol in the early 1960s. Career Scarone started playing professionally at his hometown club Peñarol in the 1930s. In 1939, at the age of 22, he moved to Gimnasia La Plata in Argentina where he spent four seasons. Between 1943 and 1947 he had spells with Mexican sides América and Atlante before coming back to Gimnasia in 1948. That same year he retired from active football and immediately took over as the club's coach. His then spent the following three decades coaching a number of South American clubs in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Mexico.
