Hugh Perrett
Hugh Perrett (born 6 April 1982, in Sydney) is a rugby union player who played for the in Super Rugby. His playing position is Flanker. He made his debut in Super Rugby for the during the 2012 Super Rugby season as an injury replacement. Having previously been a member of the Waratahs squad, he joined the Rebels during the 2012 Super Rugby season as an injury replacement and went on to make 4 appearances that season before leaving the club. Earlier in his career he represented English teams Sale Sharks and Bath Rugby make 10 appearances in total. Perrett has also represented Eastwood Rugby Club, captaining the side in the Shute Shield. Flanker (rugby Union)
Flanker is a position in the sport of rugby union. Each team of 15 players includes two flankers, who play in the Forwards (rugby union), forwards, and are generally classified as either List of rugby union terms#B, blindside or List of rugby union terms#O, openside flankers, numbers 6 and 7 respectively. The name comes from their position in a Scrum (rugby union), scrum in which they 'flank' each set of forwards. They compete for the ball – most commonly in Playing rugby union#Ruck, rucks and Playing rugby union#Maul, mauls. Flankers also assist in pushing in a scrum, but are expected to detach from the scrum as soon as the ball is out to get to the play before the opposition's forwards. National Rugby Championship
The National Rugby Championship, known as NRC, was an Australian rugby union competition. It was contested by eight teams, seven from Australia and one from Fiji. The tournament ran from 2014 until 2019 before being disbanded in 2020 following the change of the Australian rugby TV broadcasting deal from Fox Sports, who had funded the competition, to Stan Sport. The 2020 competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Format The National Rugby Championship was usually held between late August and early November. A round-robin tournament was scheduled first where each team played all others once. The top four teams progressed to the championship playoffs consisting of two semi-final knockout matches and a grand final to determine the champion team and winner of the NRC Trophy, nicknamed 'The Toast Rack'. Sale Sharks is a professional rugby union club from Greater Manchester, England. They play in Premiership Rugby, England's top division of rugby. Originally founded in 1861 as Sale Football Club, now a distinct amateur club, they adopted the nickname Sharks in 1999. Since 2012 they have played their home games at the A.J. Bell Stadium in Barton-upon-Irwell, Salford. Between 1905 and 2003 they played at Heywood Road in Sale, before moving to Edgeley Park in Stockport where they stayed until 2012.
