Hudson is an unincorporated place and community in the municipality of Sioux Lookout, Kenora District in northwestern Ontario, Canada. It is located on Lost Lake on the English River in the Nelson River drainage basin. History Hudson was originally called Rolling Portage and the first post office was established there in 1919. Transportation Hudson is on the Canadian National Railway transcontinental main line, between Webster to the west and Pelican to the east, and is passed but not served by Via Rail transcontinental ''Canadian'' trains. It is also the western terminus of Ontario Highway 664, which connects to Ontario Highway 72 southwest of the town centre of Sioux Lookout. Dryden, originally known as New Prospect, is the second-largest city in the Kenora District of Northwestern Ontario, Canada, located on Wabigoon Lake. It is the least populous community in Ontario incorporated as a city. CKDR-FM is a radio station in Dryden, Ontario, Canada. The station broadcasts an adult contemporary format at 92.7 FM. CKDR also has rebroadcasters in Ear Falls, Hudson, Ignace, Red Lake and Sioux Lookout. History CKDR was launched in 1963 on its original frequency of 900 kHz. In 1979, Fawcett Broadcasting was given approval to add rebroadcast transmitters for CKDR at Ear Falls, Hudson, and Sioux Lookout, while a transmitter was added to Red Lake in 1980. CKDR moved to 800 kHz in 1984 and remained there until November 8, 2005, when the station converted to 92.7 MHz. CBQT-FM is a Canadian radio station. It is the CBC Radio One station in Thunder Bay, Ontario, broadcasting at 88.3 FM, and serves all of Northwestern Ontario through a network of relay transmitters. History The station was launched in 1973 as CBQ on 800 AM. The 800 frequency had been vacated earlier that year by the defunct CJLX. CBQ Radio's inaugural morning broadcast in December 1973 made it the second city in Ontario to get a regional broadcast centre. Ontario Highway 72
King's Highway 72, commonly referred to as Highway 72, is a provincially maintained highway in the northern half of the Canadian province of Ontario. The highway connects Highway 17 in Dinorwic with the town of Sioux Lookout, where there are connections with Highway 516 towards Savant Lake and Highway 642 towards Silver Dollar. Highway 72 was built as a trunk route by 1920, and became a provincial highway in 1937. It has remained largely unchanged since then, aside from the reconstruction and realignment of the Frog Rapids bridge, and the renumbering of the fork towards Hudson as Highway 664.
