Huang Wei-yi (handballer)
Huang Wei-yi (, born 11 September 1985 in Yilan, Republic of China) is a Taiwanese football striker who currently plays for Tatung F.C. He comes from Atayal tribe. In 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification games, he scored 3 goals, which were the only goals received by Chinese Taipei. In 2000, Huang started playing for the Ilan Youth soccer team, for which he capped 22 times and scored 10 goals. On August 13, 2005, Huang was transferred to Tatung F.C. after his talents were noticed when playing for the Chinese Taipei National Football League. Listed below are the dates and results for the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds for Asia. 44 Asian teams are affiliated with FIFA, but Cambodia, Philippines, Bhutan and Brunei decided not to take part, and Myanmar was banned from the competition (for refusing to play a qualifier in Iran during 2002 qualifying), so a total of 39 teams took part, competing for 4.5 places in the World Cup. Format The qualification was composed of three rounds. Only the 14 last ranked teams according to FIFA took part in the Preliminary Round, where they were paired 2-by-2 and played home-and-away knock-out matches. Yilan County, alternately spelled I-lan, is a County (Taiwan), county in northeastern Taiwan, Republic of China. Name The name ''Yilan'' derives from the Taiwanese indigenous peoples, indigenous Kavalan people.
