Huang Chung-yuan
Huang Chung-yuan (; born 14 December 1950) is a Taiwanese politician. He was a member of the Taiwan Solidarity Union for most of his two-term stint in the Legislative Yuan and served the party as its acting chairman from December 2004 to January 2005. In 2007, Huang was expelled from the TSU and joined the Democratic Progressive Party. Early career Huang attended Chung Hua University and served as president of the Industrial Park Manufacturers Federation. Political career Huang represented the newly founded Taiwan Solidarity Union in the 2001 legislative elections, during which he was ranked first on the party's closed list. Upon taking office, he and the TSU mediated discussions between the Kuomintang and Democratic Progressive Party. By 2003, Huang was deputy caucus convener for the TSU and also deputy secretary-general for the party. Liao Pen-yen
Liao Pen-yen (; born 26 September 1956) is a Taiwanese politician who served two terms in the Legislative Yuan from 2002 to 2008. Education Liao graduated from Fu Jen Catholic University with a degree in business management. Political career Liao was elected the mayor of Shulin in 1993, serving in that position until 2002. During his tenure, Liao and other township heads were investigated for corruption, as they had charged multiple businesses a "township chief tax" to raise money for local community development funds. He ran in the legislative elections of 2001 and won a seat in the Legislative Yuan. Liao was the Taiwan Solidarity Union's caucus whip throughout most of his time in office. His expulsion from the TSU, announced in October 2007 and confirmed in November, for refusing to support the party's policies, led four other party members to defect. The pan-Blue coalition, pan-Blue force or pan-Blue groups is a political coalition in the Republic of China (Taiwan) consisting of the Kuomintang (KMT), People First Party (PFP), New Party (CNP), Non-Partisan Solidarity Union (NPSU), and Young China Party (YCP). The name comes from the party color of the Kuomintang.
