Hu Sheng-cheng
Hu Sheng-cheng (; 5 August 1940 – 10 July 2018) was a Taiwanese economist. He led the Council for Economic Planning and Development from 2004 to 2007 and the Financial Supervisory Commission from 2007 to 2008. Academic career Hu studied economics at the University of Rochester in the United States, where he earned a Ph.D, after having graduated from National Taiwan University in 1962. He remained in the United States, and began a teaching career at Purdue University in 1968. While working in the U.S., Hu authored a pair of reports to the Social Security Administration. Hu returned to Taiwan in 1996, teaching at NTU and holding a concurrent appointment at the Academia Sinica until 2001. Political career Hu was appointed a minister without portfolio by premier Chang Chun-hsiung in 2001 and had oversight of financial policies. The United States Social Security Administration (SSA) is an independent agency of the U.S. federal government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of retirement, disability and survivor benefits. National Taiwan University Hospital
The National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH; ) is a medical facility located in the Zhongzheng District of Taipei, Taiwan. It started operations under Japanese rule in Daitōtei (today's Dadaocheng) on 18 June 1895, and moved to its present location in 1898. The hospital was later annexed to the Medical School of Taihoku Imperial University in 1937. The present name was adopted in 1945 upon its affiliation with National Taiwan University. Wellington Koo (politician, Born 1958)
Wellington Koo (; born 31 October 1958) is a Taiwanese lawyer and politician. During his legal career, Koo represented several politicians. His own political career began with a term on the National Assembly, followed by an unsuccessful campaign for the Taipei mayoralty in 2013. In 2016, he was elected a legislator at large representing the Democratic Progressive Party. Koo left the Legislative Yuan to lead the Ill-gotten Party Assets Settlement Committee. In 2017, he became chairman of the Financial Supervisory Commission. Koo was appointed Secretary-General of the National Security Council in 2020.
