Health Risk Assessment
A health risk assessment (also referred to as a health risk appraisal and health & well-being assessment) is a questionnaire about a person's medical history, demographic characteristics and lifestyle. It is one of the most widely used screening tools in the field of health promotion and is often the first step in multi-component health promotion programs. Definition A health risk assessment (HRA) is a health questionnaire, used to provide individuals with an evaluation of their health risks and quality of life.Baker K, DeJoy D, and Wilson M. Using online health risk assessments, The Journal of Employee Assistance. April 2007. Commonly a HRA incorporates three key elementsan extended questionnaire, a risk calculation or score, and some form of feedback i.e. face-to-face with a health advisor or an automatic online report. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention define a HRA as: "a systematic approach to collecting information from individuals that identifies risk factors, ...

High Redundancy Actuation
High-redundancy actuation (HRA) is a new approach to fault-tolerant control in the area of mechanical actuation. Overview The basic idea is to use a lot of small actuation elements, so that a fault of one element has only a minor effect on the overall system. This way, a High Redundancy Actuator can remain functional even after several elements are at fault. This property is also called graceful degradation. Fault-tolerant operation in the presence of actuator faults requires some form of redundancy. Actuators are essential, because they are used to keep the system stable and to bring it into the desired state. Both requires a certain amount of power or force to be applied to the system. No control approach can work unless the actuators produce this necessary force. So the common solution is to err on the side of safety by over-actuation: much more control action than strictly necessary is built into the system. For critical systems, the normal approach involves straightforward r ...

Human Resource Accounting
Human Resource Accounting (HRA) is the process of identifying and reporting investments made in the human resources of an organisation that are presently unaccounted for in the conventional accounting practice. It is an extension of standard accounting principles. Measuring the value of the human resources can assist organisations in accurately documenting their assets. In other words, human resource accounting is a process of measuring the cost incurred by the organisation to recruit, select, train, and develop human assets. Objectives The human resource process was established to fulfill a number of objectives within the organization. These include: # To furnish cost value information for making proper and effective management decisions about acquiring, allocating, developing, and maintaining human resources in order to achieve cost effective organizational objectives. # To monitor effectively the use of human resources by the management. # To have an analysis of the Human Ass ...

Human Reliability Analysis
Human reliability (also known as human performance or HU) is related to the field of human factors and ergonomics, and refers to the reliability of humans in fields including manufacturing, medicine and nuclear power. Human performance can be affected by many factors such as age, state of mind, physical health, attitude, emotions, propensity for certain common mistakes, errors and cognitive biases, etc. Human reliability is very important due to the contributions of humans to the resilience of systems and to possible adverse consequences of human errors or oversights, especially when the human is a crucial part of the large socio-technical systems as is common today. User-centered design and error-tolerant design are just two of many terms used to describe efforts to make technology better suited to operation by humans. Common Traps of Human Nature People tend to overestimate their ability to maintain control when they are doing work. The common characteristics of human natur ...

Herra
Herra ({{IPA-fi, ˈherːɑ, lang) means "Lord" in Finnish and "Sir" in Icelandic. It is now generally used in Finnish as an honorific for all men, the equivalent to the English titles "Mister," "Sir," and " gentleman". In the Finnish Defence Forces, a superior is addressed with ''herra'' (or in case of a female superior, ''rouva'') followed by the rank of the superior. The address starts the conversation but is not repeated. For example, ''herra luutnantti'' is the same address as "Lieutenant Sir!" Written ''herra Halonen'' or ''hra Halonen'', the plural is ''herrat''. This formal form of address is rare, used in the army and in the parliament. This title is commonly not prefixed to a first name, as it connotes a lord in past centuries (e.g., ''herra Kaarle'' or ''Kaarle-herra'' gives an impression similar to that of ''Mylord Charles'' or ''Lord Charles''). In earlier centuries of the civilization, ''herra'', similar to Lord, Sieur, Seigneur, and Freiherr, meant the owner of a ...

Heidelberg Research Architecture
The Heidelberg Research Architecture (HRA) is the Digital Humanities unit of the Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context" at Heidelberg University. It embraces digital resource development, project consultation and trainings for researchers and students. The HRA’s specialists work with researchers and students at the Cluster to form an integrated digital humanities environment for transcultural studies. Its agenda ranges from developing the Tamboti ecosystem that allows transcultural relations to be traced and analysed across diverse media types (texts, images, films, audio) and disparate objects (texts, concepts, social networks), to offering hands-on workshops on digital humanities tools for researchers working at the Cluster and Heidelberg University. Furthermore, digital resources and their production are increasingly integrated into teaching environments. The HRA provides advice to researchers on how to conceptualize and implement digital resources to struct ...
