Rico Hoye (born November 9, 1974) is an American professional boxer who current competes in the Cruiserweight division. He resides Phoenix, Arizona, and is a former number one ranked light heavyweight contender (IBF) and a former world title challenger in the light heavyweight division. Hoye was a Cruiserweight division contestant in the fourth season of the Contender, boxing three 5-round bouts and one 8-round bout on Versus, winning three. Early life and professional career Hoye was raised in Monroe, Michigan and Detroit, Michigan. His father, Bobby Hoye (1951–1996) was a professional super middleweight contender. Rico was raised by his grandfather Robert Hoye (1930–1999) a United States Army and Golden Gloves middleweight boxer. James Patrick Hoye (born February 8, 1971) is an American umpire in Major League Baseball. He wears number 92. Hoye worked as an MLB reserve umpire from to for both the American and National Leagues. He was hired to the full-time Major League staff prior to the 2010 season. Hoye has worked one All-Star Game (2015), two World Series (2019, 2022), three League Championship Series (2018, 2020, 2021), four Division Series (2011, 2015, 2019, 2022), and four Wild Card Games (2014, 2018, 2020, 2021). Career Hoye has been a professional umpire since 1997. He has worked in the New York–Penn League, South Atlantic League, Florida State League, Eastern League and International League before reaching MLB.
